Get Out of Your Head + Into Your Body with Beatrice Dixon of The Honey Pot Co. Sep 22, 2020
    Show notes

The idea for The Honey Pot came to Beatrice Dixon in a dream. After a year of trying nearly every traditional method to cure her BV, Dixon was fed up with the lack of options for women’s vaginal health. Then one night, her late grandmother appeared to her in a dream with the recipe for her own natural remedy to treat the problem. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In this conversation Beatrice and I dive deep into labels and what it means to move through this world as a human with a vagina. One of my favorite moments in our chat is when Bea breaks down the subconscious link between how we treat our body and what we feel our bodies deserve.

    • Regaining trust with your body

Allyship in Action with The Kinswomen Podcast Jul 28, 2020
    Show notes

This week we sit down for a conversation on Allyship with the hosts of The Kinswomen Podcast - Hannah and Yseult. Kinswomen is a platform aimed at breaking down the gaps between women of color and white women, and having conversations about race from a place of love.

I am going to be very transparent with you folks (because I believe that’s how we grow) For a long time, I assumed that I was an ally because of my liberal beliefs. I learned (actually from Hannah and Yseult) that you are not an ally because of your beliefs. You become an Ally through your actions. Through their generosity and vulnerability, learned how I could better support the BIPOC in my life, and was given tools for genuine and sustainable action.

In this conversation we discuss privilege, taking off the white lens, and why " not seeing color" is problematic. We also discuss how we can move forward during this time of unrest in a way that facilitates real, long term change.

    We also chat about…

    • Our first encounters with race
    • The true meaning of Allyship
    • Performative Allyship
    • White Fragility
    • Emotional Labor
    • The dynamic between Black men and White women
    • The importance of taking responsibility of your allyship journey and seeking out information on your own.
