    330. Investing, Where Are You Spending Your Time & Currency? Feb 18, 2022
    Show notes

We're going to be doing something special on this episode of dHarmic Evolution. So join me for a ride today and let's have a one-on-one about investing, and answer this question: where are you spending your time and currency?

Real estate, stock market, bonds, precious metals, NFTs, Cryptos, the metaverse, these are some of the wise investments here on earth, but today we will dig deeper on what we should be more focused on. As we put our money into these things, where do we put ourselves when it comes to investing in our eternal future? Today, let me just share with you a few things that you can ponder upon to spend a more purposeful life, not just for your time here in the world but something that will last throughout eternity.

It is important for everybody to think about their earthly responsibilities, investments, caring for their families, running their businesses, and earning a good living. But it's more essential to focus on the Lord. Make Him your God and all the rest of what you want will surely easily fall into place. So, let's talk about what hinders us from coming near to Him, and by the time you finish this episode, I hope that we can all start by speaking to Him and coming confidently to God through our prayers. Have a blessed day ahead friends!

    Quotes:

    04:51

"Too few people are really focused on what comes next and even fewer are investing in their eternal future."

    13:26

"Where are we really missing something? It's not in this life here on Earth. This is just a very, very short bus stop that we all find ourselves waiting at. The ultimate focus and excitement for all should be where am I going after this? As death is a certainty for all humankind."

    14:41

"If you like earning money, make as much money as you like, just don't make it your God. Whatever you keep rolling around in your mind every minute of every day becomes your God. What about trying to keep your focus on the Lord, make Him your God and all the rest of what you want easily falls into place."

    16:09

"There are only two choices when you leave this earth – you're either going up or you are going down. Our Lord is a kind, loving God, but he is a jealous God, and he can be an angry God when he's pushed and disrespected, or he sees you worshiping false gods before him. No excuses. "

    22:13

"Start investing right now, right this minute, speak to the Lord Jesus, He is your personal intercessor and represents your place in heaven. What is there to even think about? Like Nike says, just do it baby. And you just start by speaking to him."

    329. Jade Simmons Creates Transformational Experiences, Pianist, Storytelling, to Presidential Run 2020! Feb 04, 2022
    Show notes

Jade Simmons is the fabulous guest we have today on this episode of dHarmic Evolution, this is going to be so inspiring! She is a creator of transformational experiences designed to activate audiences into becoming the biggest, boldest version of themselves possible. Ladies and gentleman, you better strap up your seatbelts because we're taking a ride today with Jade Simmons!

Jade Simmons is a world-class concert artist who has been called a "musical force of nature" (Yamaha Music) with an "uncanny ability to connect with the sounds of today" (Seattle Times). Jade is the CEO of Jade Media Global, a revolutionary live experience and global content distribution company specializing in 360º personal development and strategic transformation.

During her early career after graduating from Northwestern and Rice Universities, she performed in recital and with orchestra as a classical pianist in renowned halls, including the hallowed ones of the White House and the US Supreme Court. Following an artistic epiphany, she pivoted from playing the piano to impress audiences, to using music as the vehicle by which to provide the inspiration, entertainment, and transformation that profoundly moves them instead.

Nicknamed "Classical Music's #1 Maverick," her electrifying, genre-bending concert adventures span Rachmaninoff all the way to rap and include virtuoso storytelling, uncommon insights, and boundless inspiration. Today, Jade's experiences not only delight concert audiences, but her dazzling, high-impact presentations are fast becoming the go-to fuel for organizations looking to reconnect their people to greater purpose, inspire seismic shifts in mindset, and activate their teams and leaders to instantly start living more consequential lives of impact.

Recently named one of the Best Keynote Speakers of 2019 and 2020, Jade's impact spans a multitude of industries and transcends audience demographics. The world's superlative brands and organizations from financial services, biotech, entertainment, education, energy and beyond are bringing Jade in. The born storyteller is also a stellar mindset strategist fluent in the language of high achievers .

In her inimitable career as a concert pianist, Jade has remained committed to expanding the boundaries of Classical music and its presentation, and as a result she has revolutionized the concert platform. Today, her notably diverse audiences have come to expect creative projects backed by riveting performances.

Ms. Simmons has toured the US extensively in recital and with orchestra, highlighted by performances at venues as wide-ranging as Ravinia, the Chicago Sinfonietta in Symphony Hall, New York's Town Hall, Detroit Institute of Arts, and the White House. She has been named one of the Best of South By Southwest and has also received the Sphinx Organization's Medal of Excellence in a concert held at the US Supreme Court and hosted by Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Often the first, the founder, or at the forefront, Jade was the first New Music/New Places fellow for the prestigious Concert Artist Guild, and she was the original face of the legendary Van Cliburn International Piano competition's webcast. She's also the beloved voice of Decomposed, the critically-acclaimed American Public Media podcast that turned classic music storytelling on its head. The show has been heralded in Time, Esquire, Indie Wire, and BBC America .

Simmons continues to make an unexpected impact on and away from the stage. As an ordained minister and author, she challenges us to pray bigger with the best-selling Audacious Prayers for World Changers. An equal-opportunity disrupter, in 2020, the Maverick made her boldest leap yet as founder of Operation Restoration, which powered her run as an Independent candidate for President of the United States. Her platforms prioritize people and unifying policies over politics as usual.

Let's give Jade Simmons a warm dHarmic evolution welcome, as we learn more about her audacious journey from being pianist to her run for the Presidency. Her life stories, her music, her words of wisdom will truly move you, and you definitely should share this with your friends and family as well. Let this be an inspiration of what greater things everyone can achieve!

    Quotes:

    03:59

"It's not an easy path to pick. But that's the wonder of childhood – is you don't know any better. And my parents, I'm still blessed to have them both, and the way that they've raised me and my sister has been that we really do believe we can do anything that we put our mind to."

    13:21

"I started very early, being able to combine my love of other things outside of music, with music and with speaking and that sort of started helping me really differentiate from other concert artists."

    34:58

"As a musician, you hope for the standing O. So, to me, I didn't know it was a big deal to get the standing O, until it started showing up in the first speaker we've ever had that had a standing ovation. So then I started, "Why are people really standing up?" And my goal has become, "I don't want you to stand up just because you thought what I just did was awesome." That's one level of standing ovation. The deepest level of standing O for me is when people stand up because they feel awesome. Something in them has activated, has switched on."

    38:46

"You're never not a minister. You're just never not and, I am literally an ordained minister, my Christian faith is extremely important to me, it is 90% of who I am, as a person and forms everything, it's my compass."

    55:50

"Your purpose is not the thing you do, your purpose is what happens in others when you do what you do." And then I realized the piano was only one vehicle in which I got to ride out my purpose. What purpose was – was what was happening in that audience, the fact that they were seeing the creative side of themselves are feeling activated to go after something – that was purpose. And I realized, "Oh, my purpose personally, Jade's purpose, is to activate people into becoming a bigger, bolder version themselves, the one that I believe God created them to be. "

    328. Stone Senate Keeps Southern Rock Alive From Dawn Til Dusk Jan 21, 2022
    Show notes

Stone Senate is a Southern Rock Band from Nashville Tennessee. They have been called "a heavier version of Lynyrd Skynyrd, crossed with The Allman Brothers Band." While being mentioned in such heady company is flattering, one thing that they are most definitely not, is a "retro act."

They take what comes naturally from their collective influences, and then took it a step further. You better strap up your seat belts, because we're going to hang out today with Stone Senate!

Meet the members of the band! Fronted by lead vocalist/guitarist Clint Woolsey's smoldering, soulful vocals and unmistakable stage presence, stage left and stage right are burning with the dual lead guitars of James Edwards and Ted Hennington.

Add to these the blood bonded rhythm section of "The Mud Brothers"- Paul Zettler on bass/vocals and David Zettler on drums/vocals and you have just caught lightning in a bottle.

This band has built their audience through relentless touring year round, along with radio tours inserted into the schedule. Having been together since 2012, the band is able to widen their collective setlist while throwing in band and audience favorites of Country and Rock legendary songs.

With over 500 shows throughout the US in the last few years, Stone Senate is steadily adding more and more dates each year and looking forward to some great new music in 2022!

Let's get to know them more as we are joined by Clint Woolsey and talk about the band and how their success story started. It's time to give a warm dHarmic evolution welcome to Stone Senate!

    More about Stone Senate

Check out all the links below and follow Stone Senate on their social media pages, they also have a website where you can check out all the great things that they offer!

    Quotes:

    22:16

"It took a few years, but it was kind of almost worth the wait, man. Because this to me – this lineup is just about perfect. Everybody's really, really close. We get along, and everybody's shooting for the same goal of being able to really make a living playing music.

So everybody really goes the extra mile to make anything like this happen for us. So it's a great group of guys, man, that's for sure, I'm lucky to be with."

    26:07

"I tell you what, that was really the only option that we had starting out was just to play as many shows, as many places that we could. So we kind of took just about every show that was offered, if we could physically make it there in time.

But we take it, no matter what the money was. A lot of times, there wasn't any money, it was just an opportunity for us. "

    38:25

"I think the biggest challenge is getting enough sleep. But we all love playing music and we really all love playing music with each other. So that's really what's driving us to get out on the road."

    41:55

"We're still still running hard, man, and loving just about every minute of it, even the break."

    52:39

" I just say to any of the upcoming musicians just to get out there and play, play, play man.Play live and rehearse as much as humanly possible because that seemed to really help me in the band, as a whole lot."

    326. Murphy's Don't Quit, Unlocking Hope When Life Seems Hopeless, With Colleen Murphy Dec 24, 2021
    Show notes

We've got a really special guest today. She is an author and a public speaker. She is also a wife, and a mother of seven. Are you ready for a story of tragedy, turned into triumph? Strap up your seatbelts, we are going to St. Louis, Missouri to visit Colleen Murphy today for a very inspiring conversation!

In 2013, tragedy struck Colleen's family when her second oldest daughter Lauren, was hit by a car and suffered severe brain damage. Colleen's main focus became helping piece Lauren back together again. With the help of specialists from all over the country, her family, her friends, as well as her strong faith.

Today, Colleen and Lauren speak together as a team inspiring thousands of people by sharing the details of Lauren's tragic accident, never-give-up attitude, and her miraculous recovery. Colleen lives with her husband Dave, and she spends her free time fielding countless phone calls from her children as they deal with the challenges of adulting, and assisting her husband via FaceTime as he struggles to find things at the grocery store.

Colleen Murphy is a writer and her recent work, "Murphys Don't Quit: 5 Keys to Unlocking Hope When Life Seems Hopeless" was released last October 5th. It talks about the raw story of the accident and a story of hope and resilience as one family rallies together during a tragedy. Today, we are blessed to hear their family's story and how they were able to overcome everything together, and also the 5 keys to unlocking hope that they talk about in the book.

It's going to be an exciting and inspirational ride today as we visit Missouri with Colleen Murphy here in this episode of dHarmic Evolution!

    More about Colleen Murphy

    Quotes:

    07:57

" They also have a life to live, and I don't want everything just to be around trauma, right? It's important for us to make sure that they have the most normal life that they could even if things were different. I didn't want them to have to give up their sports teams or all their extracurricular activities. So that was like a big, big goal of my husband and mine early on. To make sure life continued as close to normal as possible for the rest of the kids. "

    13:12

"So there's always a positive. Something we learned early on, look for the positive. That was their positive attitude."

    18:37

" Writing has always kind of been my therapy. I am not a private person. I mean, my husband always says he could never run for office, because I'll be blah-blah-blah, but it's always kind of been my therapy. But my twist on it in my writing style is – and it's a gift I got from my late father – I find humor in everything. Even when we're in the thick of things with the kids. I had a blog that I started back in 2008, and at the end of the day, especially when I had a really stressful day, I would sit at the computer and say, "Okay, what was funny about today?"

    33:59

"One of the professors that she works with told me something early on, that was like, the best advice she could give me when we were working on the commencement address. She said, "If it's perfect, it's not inspirational." I'm like, "You know, you're right." It is the imperfection that makes this such a wonderful story. I mean, here's a girl that was never supposed to be able to speak or understand words, and she's speaking in front of 3000 people. So I have to always remember that, I can't expect her to not have deficits. "

    42:04

"Number one, never give up. No matter what people tell you, never give up, just have faith and I get it that, "our story", it doesn't always turn out that way, but there's always hope. You just don't know, just put one foot in front of the other, every day is better. You're gonna have some really, really tough days, but hang in there, the next day will be better."

    324. Why Scott Edward Jones Is Playing To An Audience Of One Nov 26, 2021
    Show notes

It was a real pleasure to do the interview with an awesome guest today on this episode of dHarmic Evolution. We have this gentleman who is a soldier, a troubadour, a singer and a songwriter. He is many things! But most importantly, he is a man who walks with God. Strap up your seatbelts, we're going to hang out today with Scott Edward Jones from Erie, Pennsylvania!

Scott graduated from Pine Crest Bible College in 1991, and has served in many capacities at Erie First assembly of God since 1996. Scott's ministry was born to a faith walk in the Lord Jesus Christ through hardship and happy times. His songs are well crafted, catchy and easy to sing along with. God has been preparing him for this season of ministry since he sang his first "song unto the Lord," back in 1969. All his songs are rooted in the scripture and are doctrinally sound in the evangelical traditions.

There is a lot of wisdom engrained in Scott. We had a very spirited and valuable conversation and I hope we will take to heart all the lessons and the suggestions that he has been so profound in sharing with us today. Get to know more about this man, hear his songs, his stories, his adventures, all the things that he has been through in his life and be inspired by this amazing man of God, Scott Edward Jones!

    More about Scott Edward Jones

Visit Scott's website, named "Funky Sunday Party" and don't forget to check him out on his social media pages and music platforms and support his works. See all the available links below!

    Quotes:

    11:26

"Things didn't get better, but I was in the right place with the Lord, and that's where I needed to be. Sometimes you have to be torn down to be built back up properly, that's what he did for me on that deployment."

    20:57

"There's other people out there that have felt unworthy of love. They don't feel that they're good enough, or they've made too many mistakes, or they've just got their own records of their past. I'm here to tell them, you're worthy of love too."

    21:39

"There's an interesting quote, brother James, that said, "God told me to forgive my enemies. So I forgave myself.""

    27:35

"Honestly, my ultimate goal is, I'm singing my songs to an audience of one. My songs are really just, you're getting a little peek into my prayer life. I'm sharing intimate thoughts with my Savior, with God. They're songs of praise, most of them, all of them really, some more than others. But it's an audience of one. Really, my overall goal is that when I stand before God, on my judgement day, he says "Well done, good and faithful servant." and turn for your rest and turn to the kingdom. So that's where I'm at."

    42:52

" So to me, it's if I'm speaking the truth, if that makes you not like me, that's the price I have to pay."

    46:22

"We only know in part, we only see in part. If you'll watch that video, I'm carrying a crown. That's my purpose. So I know my purpose, I know why I'm here now. I know my lane, and I'm walking in the confidence of that."

    48:18

"If you feel that God's called you to do something, do more than make a decision, take an action."

"Steady'' was actually a song that we wrote over Zoom during the first week of COVID stuff happening, just when we were needing something steady. I think everybody was feeling that way. So, we wanted to capture that in the recording and the mixing in the master of like, "there's something we're needing here and we're needing an energy behind it to express that."

    20:27

I think actually, it can be kind of dangerous if we're like, "the process has to be like this." Because, it just limits so much of the creativity and, so much of the fun, and child likeness and discovery of it being whatever it's gonna be for that song.

    45:53

I think stuff like that to people are like, "I need an hour or two hours to do that, and I don't have that much time." That's not true. Well, you can do something in five minutes, that will totally change the rest of your day.

    48:25

I always think about, if I could go back and talk to myself at the beginning of college, maybe that would be the time I would need somebody to just tell me to just chill out, because it's gonna be okay, it's gonna work out fine. It's gonna take some time, probably more years than you think, but if you stick it out, things will work out and you'll meet your people and find your way.

    Quotes:

    09:04

"As an artist, whatever you're creating, your influences show up in one-way shape or form."

    19:47

"A simple love song but I kind of went beyond just the initial feelings of love. When you first fall in love and the stars and everything in your hearts. I really feel that love is a commitment. There may be days where you don't feel like loving your spouse or your kids but you're committed to them so you love them all the same. That feeling is going to pass, you'll makeup and everything will be fine but it's about that "You can always depend on me, I'm going to be your castle on the rock, immovable, unshakable. I'm here for you, I love you, and I always will."

    42:34

"I'm thankful we have a nice big backyard that goes about 100 yards deep and there's a pond and you know, a nice wooded area, we have a fire pit in the back. Nothing better than to just spend an evening by the fire, family and friends, and just chilling. My wife and I love to just relax and watch movies or documentaries and stuff on Netflix or Amazon just to kind of wind down. Of course, I love being with my family. We love to travel, haven't traveled for a good long time, but we love to travel and just discover new things and stuff. So we're pretty low-key."

    50:58

"I think what comes to mind is just be yourself. Be authentic. I don't think we need any more copycats. I think that the artists that get the most respect over time are those that are the most original... I think the music industry is really hungry for more artists and bands like that. So I would really encourage you to be that person to make that bold step and put out something like that."

    321. Charming Songwriting and Book Writing, = Beth Crowley Oct 22, 2021
    Show notes

Since we only have special people here in the dHarmic Evolution, we got a really special young lady to join us today. Strap up your seatbelts, because we're taking a ride today from the Music City all the way to Georgia. Ladies and gentlemen, we've got Beth Crowley!

Beth first gained recognition on YouTube back in 2011. She was inspired by a comedic group called Axis of Awesome and she posted a medley of popular songs titled, "Greatest Song Ever Written." The song was quickly picked up by Reddit, BuzzFeed, and Tumblr, and now this video has over a million views on YouTube.

From 2014, Beth already has released one full-length album, two EPs, and numerous singles. Her book-inspired music includes songs based on the Dark Artifices series, The Divergent series, the Lunar Chronicles, Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, The Fault in Our Stars, the Shatter Me series, and many more. She's also written several commissioned custom songs for books and book series. Coming from Nashville and now back in Georgia, Beth continues to write and release new music. She's also started writing her first young adult novel.

It was a real pleasure learning about Beth Crowley, her music, and all the things that she's doing in her book. There's a lot more to see of her in the future. But for now, let's get to know more about her here on the dHarmic Evolution!

    More about Beth Crowley

Beth Crowley wants to thank her listeners for continuing to support her dream of writing meaningful music, and if you haven't listened to her yet, check out all her links below. She is most active on Instagram as it is more interactive, but you can look at all the social media platforms provided below!

    Quotes:

    04:20

"I think a lot of people had that moment this past year of being like, "Why am I away from things that are important to me if I don't have to be?"

    13:00

"I love lyrics and I love language and I just had the imagery for this song of where storms are, like very impactful and sometimes terrible but I was fascinated by the idea that there are people that actually seek them out like they get some kind of reward out of going into the storms rather than going away from them."

    19:11

"My ideal situation is to be able to traditionally publish this book and have the soundtrack that goes with it and be able to tour and actually play. Like, have a book tour and play music at the same time. I think that would be such a cool format for touring."

    23:27

"I hope that I'm in a position someday where I would be able to have a series of shows and not have to worry about nobody showing up for them. Because I've definitely been there where I had a show that just nobody came to and that's very humbling."

    37:45

"It really is an interesting combination of being so satisfied with the music but also, all of the memories and associations that come with the experience and so I'm just really grateful that I think that's probably something that not everyone is lucky enough to have, that they not only have an album that they really believe in but they had a great experience doing it, and so just everything about it was more than I could have hoped for."

    47:54

"I would say the biggest thing is don't go for that instantaneous viral moment. Build a foundation, which takes time. If you're building a house, you build a foundation, and you do it slowly and carefully, so you can have the rest of the house be supported by that. It doesn't have to happen quickly. If you stick with it, and you work hard, it's not like a guarantee that stuff will happen for you, but it certainly increases your chances. But you have to make things happen for yourself. You can't sit back and wait for them to happen."
