Episode Sixteen: Under the Covers with Special Guest Justin Osborne Aug 28, 2019
    Show notes

In today's episode "Under the Covers" the gang and special guest host Justin Osborne of one of our favorite bands SUSTO take on our first (probably of many) list of our favorite covers that we could find and just talk about them. Do they make us twist? Do they make us shout? Do they make us do BOTH? Well, we sure do figure that out. We talk about everything under the sun from Johnny Cash's immortal "Hurt" to Train's "Ramble On", Blink-182's "Dancing with Myself" and everything in between. Remember ladies & gentlemen: You can't always be punk. Sometimes you gotta go to Disney World.

To hear all the tunes we talk about in this episode, check out our episode playlist on our black market Spotify HERE.

Make sure as always to give SUSTO a follow on all your fav social media platforms @sustoisreal and check out their cover of "Daniel" & buy tickets for their shows in Europe and the US HERE.

    A Conversation With: L.A. Edwards Aug 09, 2019
    Show notes

Welcome back rockers, it's been a while! But the wait is over and we've got a brand new interview for your listening pleasure. Join us as we sit down with L.A. Edwards as he calls in from his campsite while at Floyd Fest in the middle of the Virginia woods to which we are honestly so very jealous of. We break down Americana (or as he calls it, the working-class music), learn some tricks from album producer Ron Blair (aka ONE OF THE HEARTBREAKERS), put in our vote for Jerry for Mayor, discuss how freakin' tight Orca's are, and answer the question: what about french toast?

Make sure to give L.A. a listen on Spotify, Apple Music, or buy his got-dang album "True Blue" on vinyl here.

If you like Petty, Harrison, The Killers, or any mix of rock from the 70s and 80s than this is the band for you.

A Conversation with Del Water Gap: S. Holden Jaffe Apr 25, 2019
    Show notes

Last month we had the immense pleasure of talking with the incredibly thoughtful and endearing S. Holden Jaffe of the band Del Water Gap as he walks us through some of the tracks off his new record “Don’t Get Dark” which released two weeks ago and honestly, we still can’t get enough. We get to know him a bit more as we chat about his first experience at SXSW in Houston early March, his social experiment, the first song he ever wrote called “Clean and Simple”, and the reality of the loneliness and struggles that sometimes come with being a musician. We recap his latest local tour, dive into some of the stories behind his previous music, and swap some book and band recommendations. Meg almost immediately mis-pronounces his last name after just asking how to pronounce it and says “awesome” about three-thousand times. Which is accurate. Holden is awesome.

Make sure to check out "Don't Get Dark" wherever you get your music!

Follow Del Water Gap on Twitter and Instagram @delwatergap to keep up with all the latest music releases and future tours.

And check out the published written review of the new record that our wonderful Meg did on our webpage at podbean.com!

Episode Eleven: The Gang's Favorite Albums of 2018 Mar 28, 2019
    Show notes

On today's episode of Podcast in the Sky, the gang sits back and chats about their top 3 favorite albums of 2018 (in no particular order) and give some shout-outs to those that didn't quite make the top cut but are most certainly worthy of honorable mentions. We cover everything from Indie and Folk to Jazz and Hip Hop. Check out the tags in our Instagram post to link and listen to the artists we talk about, and make sure to give us a like and follow on ALL of your favorite social media platforms and streaming sites. A little bit of love goes a long way. Sit back, and enjoy the mayhem.

A Conversation with Susto: Justin Osborne Mar 02, 2019
    Show notes

The Gang sets the tone right for 2019 with "The Year of Justin". In this episode, we get to sit down with Susto's own Justin Osborne as he walks us through some of the singles off his new record "Ever Since I Lost My Mind" which hit streaming platforms everywhere last Friday (and if you haven't listened to it, you better do it now because you WILL NOT be disappointed). We hear the true (and never before told) tale of how the song "Jah Werx" came to be, Justin's experience in Cuba and how it impacted him as a musician, those rad fucking knuckle tats, and of course, some almost-famous band shout-outs and recommendations (to which will be tagged in any and all social media posts so go check 'em out asap).

Big, big, BIG thanks to Justin for coming on and talking with us, and don't forget to catch him April 17th at Great Scott in Allston to see him live and in all his glory. You can purchase tickets here.

Episode Nine: Season Two Pilot (feat. Ramblin' On Power Hour Part 2) Feb 14, 2019
    Show notes

IT’S TIME FOR THE PODCAST IN THE SKY SEASON TWO PILOT EVERYONE! Join Meg and The Gang as we welcome aboard our new co-host, debate the Grammy’s, review some of Meg’s fav killer indie folk bands (Del Water Gap & SUSTO which we mispronounce the whole time like Erin and Andy mispronounce Sabre in that one episode of ‘The Office’), re-cap their adventures to the House of Blues in Boston over the weekend, reveal some upcoming interview info, and also Jimmy Neutron? It wouldn’t be a Podcast in the Sky episode without a weird side tangent that actually ends up relevant? Also @ Drake Bell come in for an interview we love you?? Even though I guess Mike wants to low key verbally fight you???? It always has to end up weird with this motley crue. You’ll probably want to be baked for this one, kids. Not gonna lie to ya.

As always follow us on all your favorite social media @podcastsky and make sure to give our bands some serious love.
