    Episode 112B - "MacPherson" - Part 2 May 28, 2019
    Show notes

In the second half of the season 1 finale, our team finally confronts MacPherson -- and everyone is not who they seem. Our artifact expert for the week, Dr. Kaye Whitehead, helps us learn more about Harriet Tubman's thimble, and her legacy in American history. After today's episode, we'll be taking a break of at least one month to prep for season 2, but never fear! We have several bonus episodes, including "Warehouse 13 Changed My Life," and other mailbag specials, planned to release until season 2 is ready. For updates, follow us on Twitter, and make sure you're subscribed on your favorite podcasting platform.

    Episode 112A - "MacPherson" - Part 1 May 25, 2019
    Show notes

It's the first half of the season one finale, and wow! there's a lot to discuss. In episode 101A, we talk everything from "tool and die" to Vestal Virgins as MacPherson leads Pete, Myka, and Artie on a dangerous chase. Plus, special shout-out to friend of the show and writer of WH13 Benjamin Raab, for offering a few corrections and behind-the-scenes info. Look forward to Part 2 as soon as we get it done this Tuesday! Lastly, we love our German intro recording by Patreon supporter Numo. You can introduce us, too, by checking out our Patreon tiers :)

    Episode 111 - "Nevermore" May 15, 2019
    Show notes

This week, Pete and Claudia head to high school English class for a very literary episode, "Nevermore." In addition to the Goth Man himself, we discuss Hemingway, Byron, Blake, Plath, the Peanuts cartoons, and more. Our artifact expert for the week is C.C. Rae, a literature lover, educator, and author of young adult fiction who studied at the University of Arizona. We have some great deleted scenes from this episode available online for our Patreon supporters, and more info available to everyone in our show notes.

    Episode 110 - "Breakdown" May 07, 2019
    Show notes

Silly "Sticky String" causes a breakdown in the Gooery in this week's season 1 episode 10. Join us as we shine an actor spotlight on the prolific Mark Sheppard, and share brand NEW audio insight from our interview with Jack Kenny -- who describes his vision of the Regents and the battle he fought with the network to represent them as everyday people. Our artifact expert is Ana Quiring, a literary scholar from Washington University in St Louis, who helps us understand the life and legacy of Sylvia Plath. CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains a lengthy discussion of major depression and suicide. If you need to reach out for help but are having trouble doing so, consider the Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741. You can also find more information in our show notes.

Bonus - Interview! with Showrunner Jack Kenny Apr 30, 2019
    Show notes

**SPOILER NOTICE: This interview contains spoilers for all five seasons of Warehouse 13.** Surprise! It's the man, the myth, the legend, Jack Kenny. In the first half of this interview, we discuss artifacts, prop departments, Jewish prayers and more. Where's the second half of the interview, you ask? We have tons of bonus footage of episode-specific questions that we'll incorporate throughout season 2 of the podcast. Enjoy!

    Episode 109 - "Regrets" Apr 02, 2019
    Show notes

*Content warning: This episode contains discussions of self-harm, suicide, and trauma. If you are in crisis, please contact 1-800-273-8255 (USA), or visit lifeline.org.nz (New Zealand), or see our show notes for further international resources.* This week, we're headed to Southern prisons, both factual and fictional, with a little help from Lydia Pelot-Hobbs, an activist-scholar who researches the Louisiana carceral state from the 1970s to the present. We want to emphasize that we ourselves are not experts in incarceration or the criminal justice system, so please defer to our expert and/or the non-profit, non-partisan resource she recommends here for information about American prisons. We also discuss electricity, magnetism, and quartz with a little help from the American Physical Society.

We'll be on hiatus for the next two weeks as we rep the podcast at ClexaCon, but make sure you're subscribed for interim bonus content! We'll return to a regular production schedule on April 23 with episode 110.

    Episode 108B - "Duped" - Part 2 Mar 27, 2019
    Show notes

(Pst. A few seconds of Jill's audio fell down the rabbit hole in the first 2 minutes of this ep. Sorry!) Things get hinky in Part 2 of this Alice Liddell special! We kick things off with our Artifact Expert Brittany Carlson, a Historian of Mathematics and scholar of Lewis Carroll who is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of California, Riverside. Heavy themes include Charles Dodgson's life, speech impediment, and relationships with children -- which probably aren't what you think when looking back in time through a modern lens. Thanks for requesting this second half, and don't forget to have your eye out for show notes!

    Episode 108A - "Duped" - Part 1 Mar 26, 2019
    Show notes

Alice!Myka is here -- and we've got so much to say, it takes two episodes. In the first half of "Duped," we appreciate our writing team Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes, plus we introduce a new segment called "Eureka Moment" for guest actors Erica Cerra and Niall Matter. We also are thrilled to gain further insight into the Studio 54 Disco Ball thanks to our first ever Artifact Expert Email Correspondent, New York music journalist Prof. Carol Cooper. Part 108B will be out ASAP, and over there, we have an in-person interview with an award-winning historian of mathematics. We can't wait to see you on the other side!

    Episode 107 - "Implosion" Mar 20, 2019
    Show notes

This week, a real-life, really-lost samurai sword changes everything we thought we knew about Artie. We consult Dr. Nyri Bakkalian, an award-winning author, artist, and military historian who helps us understand the Honjo Masamune. Our opening segment shows our appreciation for writer Bob Goodman, and we shine two Actor's Spotlights: one on Mrs. Frederic's Bodyguard (Jung Yul Kim) and another on James MacPherson (Roger Rees). Heavy themes include the complexities of WWII, including Jillian's further reflections building on last week's discussion of Jewish representation. Plus, there's an Eddie McClintock Easter egg this episode -- can you find his voiceover cameo? As always, visit our website and look forward to our show notes!
