Today we are with Terry Linhart (PhD, Purdue University), who is the Chair of the Religion and Philosophy Department at Bethel College, where he teaches ministry-related courses. His research and writing has focused on missions, evangelism, multicultural ministry, and leadership development. He is the co-author of What Can We Do?, and author of Teaching the Next Generations, The Self Aware Leader, Middle School Talksheets: Life of Christ and High School Talksheets: Life of Christ. Terry and his wife, Kelly, have three children, Lauren, Jayson, and Sean.
Today we are discussing his article: "Endurance Trumps Enthusiasm: Where Youth Ministry Can Thwart Adolescent Faith Development". Throughout our conversation we also discuss a book that every parent of a teen or tween should read called Sticky Faith. Terry's thought provoking question this week is: Are your children helpful without being asked? This has really helped me to recognize heart issues with my own children that we can work on so they have a humble spirit looking to be helpful even when they are not asked.
