Pamela Des Barres' Pajama Party with Rufus Wainright Jun 30, 2021
    Show notes

To say I was completely beside myself when Rufus said Yes! To my request to be on my podcast, is not even slightly adequate. My heart split wide open and smiled at the universe and sprinkled flower petals everywhere. One of my all time favorite singer/ songwriters, with a voice from a heavenly ethereal plane, Rufus also tells some forthright inspiring stories.

    You're in for a TREAT!

No Filler: Whatcha Heard? The Where Has Catherine Wheel Been All Our Lives Edition Jun 28, 2021
    Show notes

If there is one takeaway from this month's Whatcha Heard, it is that Catherine Wheel is an amazingly under-appreciated shoegaze alt-rock band from the 90s and you should listen to them immediately. And we learned that in the wide world of vaporwave, of course there's a subgenre called "mallsoft", and it's actually pretty amazing. From doomgaze stone metal group Torche's triumphant 2019 return with Admission tothe latest single from quintessential indie singer-songwriter Jim Guthrie, tune in for perhaps our finest mixes yet.

    Tracklist:

    1. Loscil - Lumina
    2. Jim Guthrie - Hands In My Pocket
    3. Lord Huron - Mine Forever
    4. Greet Death - Circles Of Hell
    5. Fiddlehead - Heart To Heart
    6. Maenad Veyl - Out Of Sight
    7. John Mint - Toll Free Connection
    8. John Mint - Chemicals
    9. Catherine Wheel - Texture
    10. Catherine Wheel - I Confess
    11. Goat Girl - Sad Cowboy
    12. TORCHE - Admission
    13. Tricot - いない INAI
    14. Paris Jackson - Let Down

Love That Album Ep. 146: Live Albums I Dig Jun 28, 2021
    Show notes

Remember episode 133 of the show where I spoke with hosts of some of my favourite shows within the Pantheon Podcast Network about their favourite live albums? You don't? Go back and listen to that show....I'll wait.

Welcome to episode 146 of Love That Album.

So after that episode came out, no one at all asked me, “What are some of YOUR favourite live albums???” With the scheduled episode for this month being deferred to next year, now is the perfect time to answer that non-asked question. On this episode, I pick three live albums I love, highlight why I dig 'em, and make the case that you should chase them up.

That's it....no long ramble. Just download and listen.

Oh....while you're reading this, I will put in a mention about next month's shows. The podcast is turning 10 years old!!!! I will be releasing two (count 'em) episodes to celebrate.

Download this episode of LTA from Spotify, Stitcher or iTunes (search for “Love That Album podcast”)....or wherever you prefer getting your podcasts.

Love That Album is proudly part of the Pantheon Podcast network. Go to http://pantheonpodcasts.com to check out all their great shows.

You can send me feedback at rrrkitchen@yahoo.com.au (written or mp3 voicemail) or join the Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/groups/lovethatalbum

If you’d consider writing an iTunes review I’d be immensely grateful. However, it’d be even better if you told a friend about the podcast and Pantheon – at a barbecue, over coffee, on social media….whatever way you choose, consider me grateful.

Shout It Out Loudcast: "You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best!" Jun 28, 2021
    Show notes

This week Tom & Zeus review the 1996 Live Compilation, KISS Album, "You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best!" The album title comes from the famous line shouted prior to KISS concerts. The album is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary. The album was meant to coincide with the KISS reunion and their soon to be legendary Alive/Worldwide Tour. The album consists of 13 tracks made up of several KISS Klassic Live cuts from KISS Alive & KISS Alive II and 4 "supposedly" new live deep cuts, Room Service, Two Timer, Let Me Know and Take Me. However, the 1996 overdubs maybe more than just slight overdubs. The final track, which is odd, is a interview with former Tonight Show host, Jay Leno.

The guys breakdown the tracks, the selections and the "interview" and then rank the new tracks. The guys then rank the album and cover versus the previous 2 Live Albums reviewed by SIOL.

    July 3, 1971!

The world became a little more less bright. Following the deaths of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin the year before, Jim Morrison died in Paris that night, and with him, a little more of Rock's future.

This episode talks about the known and unknown. The rumors, more recent developments and most importantly, the music of The Doors!!! Fifty years after he joined The 27 Club, we still celebrate the man, the poet, and his music!

Shout It Out Loudcast: Album Review Crew - "Look What The Cat Dragged In" with Chris Jericho Jun 28, 2021
    Show notes

On the 20th Episode of the Album Review Crew, Tom & Zeus & Sonny & Special Guest AEW Wrestling Superstar, Fozzy front man, Le Champion, Chris Jericho review the 1986 debut album by Poison, "Look What The Cat Dragged In." This album kicked open the door for glam metal. The album, the videos and the band for good or bad, became the poster child for "Hair Metal."

Led by the charismatic front man, Bret Michaels, Poison's simple lyrics, fun attitude and guitar hooks was made for MTV. The album anchored by the genre defining hit, "Talk Dirty To Me" ushered the band, C.C. Deville, (guitar), Bobby Dall (bass) & Rikki Rocket (drums) to the top of the L.A. hard rock/metal scene.

In between the jokes, the insults and the laughter, Jericho & ARC analyze Poison's role in the era, the scene, their legacy and more.

As usual the guys breakdown the tracks and rank the songs. The boys, including Jericho then rank the album and album cover against the previous 18 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew Episodes.

This is the Most Can't Miss, Hilarious Episode of the Album Review Crew!

So if you want to "Act Tough" & if you "Got Pizzazz, Like A Razzmatazz" and you like to "Slide it In"...... this episode is where to begin!
