Vintage Rock Pod: Fito de la Parra (Canned Heat) Interview Nov 09, 2022
    Show notes

Today's interview is with a Woodstock veteran from a band labelled the 'bad boys of rock' after a stint in jail. I'm talking about Canned Heat star Fito de la Parra!

Fito tells some brilliant stories from his 55 year career with the group like how they had to sign away their future publishing rights to secure release from prison, how the Mob shut them down from playing, stories from behind the big hits and of course from his experience at that very special festival in 1969!

Canned Heat broke through the LA scene in the 60s alongside the likes of Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead and Buffalo Springfield and went on to achieve huge success around the world with legendary songs like "Going Up The Country", "Let's Work Together" and "On The Road Again."

Check out more of Vintage Rock Pod's brilliant interviews by following/subscribing to the Vintage Rock Pod feed on your favourite podcast app - a new episode is released every single day and you can only get these on the VRP feed!

Tunes & Tumblers: Barns Courtney and a New Lease on Life (feat. Barns Courtney) Nov 08, 2022
    Show notes

It wouldn't be fair to ring in a new season without bringing a little insanity. This week English singer, songwriter, and nihilistic philosopher Barns Courtney joins the Tunes & Tumblers crew to talk about his latest song "Supernatural," wax poetic about the end of the world, and share an espresso-infused cocktail to get the manic energy gushing like a firehose. And did we mention he did all this while running a 100+ degree fever right before a show? Sip on all that chaotic energy and more, fam. Cheers!

Prisoners of Rock and Roll - Rock and Jock: Music & Sports Nov 07, 2022
    Show notes

Music is a huge part of any sporting event. Teams and stadiums use it to get crowds fired up and into the game, so much so that there are certain songs that you automatically associate with sports.

In honor of the World Series, the Prisoners of Rock and Roll are holding our own music pep rally and talking about the best music to hear at a sporting event. Nothing gets a crowd fired up like Thunderstruck by AC/DC or Seven Nation’s Army by the White Stripes. And who hasn’t been at a game where they fire up some It Takes Two by Rob Base or Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter

Our show is sponsored by our home base of McCusker's Tavern at 17th and Shunk Streets in Philadelphia. We are proud supporters of our friends at Boldfoot Socks. We are just one of the dozens of awesome shows on the Pantheon Podcast Network.
