AllMusicPodcasts 114: "Scott Walker: 30 Century Man" with Stephen Kijak May 08, 2022
    Show notes

In an extraordinary career that spans over 40 years, American-born Scott Walker has been both the most famous pop singer in the UK and one of its most enigmatic and reclusive artists. His fans include David Bowie, Brian Eno, Sting, Johnny Marr, Radiohead and many more.

30th Century Man celebrates the Walker’s artistic journey and the amazing voice of one of the most uncompromising and respected figures in music today and presents a rare look inside the most bizarre recoding session ever captured on film. 30th Century Man is a visually & structurally inventive film that subverts the typical rock-doc narrative to deliver not just the journey of a songwriter but a meditation on the creative process itself.

What Difference Does It Make: Mother's Day Music Favorites May 07, 2022
    Show notes

Whether we like it or not, our moms shape who we are, and influence how we feel about so much in our lives. This episode is devoted to the music that is embedded in our DNA, thanks to our mothers, or in Holly's case, for her children. Dave goes to showtunes, movie musicals, and one-hit wonders from the 60s and 70s. Holly's mom is all Classic Rock and 90s Alternative. It's an emotional episode filled with bad singing, dancing, and Seinfeld clips. Happy Mother's Day!

A few others have remained in the business one of who is now recognised as one of the world’s top lighting designers, another is one of Europe’s top rigging experts, both worked on the London 2012 Olympic games, whilst others run their own exhibition and event staging consultancy, a conference and wedding venue, previously a recording studio, another heads up a ticketing agency in Canada, whilst teaching fly fishing and making chocolate chip cookies feature too and not just as hobbies.

The Ugly American Werewolf in London 75: Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets Live at Royal Albert Hall May 06, 2022
    Show notes

Pink Floyd helped create progressive rock music in the 1960s and started out playing clubs in London with elaborate light shows. In the 1970s they became one of the biggest bands in the world with platinum records and record breaking tours. Nick Mason, the only member of Pink Floyd to never leave the group, has convened with some friends to revisit the pre-Dark Side of the Moon catalog and breathe new life into these often forgotten classics. With the help of long-time Pink Floyd collaborator Guy Pratt on bass & vocals, his Rockonteurs partner Gary Kemp on guitar & vocals, Lee Harris (guitar) & Dom Beken (keyboards they provide an extraordinary show.

The Wolf scored a last minute seat to see them at the renowned Royal Albert Hall in London....in the front row!! I basically sat on the stage and marveled at these extraordinary musicians take on this incredibly special collection of songs from the 60s and early 70s. It was one of the most special nights of my life when it comes to seeing live music and I share it all with you on our 75th episode.
