Join investigative journalist Jessica Noll as she turns back the hands of time to relive some of the biggest crime stories from our history. From horrific tragedies like the Columbine Massacre to the vile actions of infamous criminals like Charles Manson. Each episode is told in the present tense – putting you on the scene as the events unfold in real time. New episodes every Monday.
There are places where the world’s most gruesome crimes have led to years, decades, and sometimes even centuries of supernatural activity, the victims seemingly reaching out from beyond the grave for justice. Those places are in Creepy Places: A True Crime Podcast, and I am your host, Jon Grilz. Our journey will take us across the world from the Carpathian Mountains to the heartland of the United States and through six centuries of true crime. The echoes of these crimes can still be heard in the buildings in which they occurred, the objects used in each kill, and in the pop culture legacy they have left behind. Many of our tales are now the stuff of legend, passed down from generation to generation. Others are so fresh the blood is not yet even dry. New episodes every other week. Join Jon Grilz in these Creepy Places if you dare…
What happens when a dangerous surgeon arrives on one of the world’s most remote islands? How much damage can he do before he is stopped?
St Helena is a small British island in the South Atlantic, over 1000 miles from the nearest landmass. It is famous for hosting Napoleon in exile, and boasts the world’s oldest living land animal, Jonathan the tortoise, as one of its residents.
But this tiny British Overseas Territory has been gripped with scandal. When orthopedic surgeon Dr Sergio Villatoro Bran arrived in 2015 he was supposed to revolutionise care on the island. Instead he caused unimaginable harm.
Was it incompetence?
Or was he deliberately causing harm?
And is the government of St Helena trying to block the residents’ fight for justice?
Following on from the critically acclaimed The Pitcairn Trials, Luke Jones investigates another scandal unfolding in one of Britain’s most isolated territories

They’ve seen an interstate cut their once-thriving neighborhood in half. They’ve seen their community cut off from the commercial and cultural engines of the city. They’ve seen racialized terror visited on their own backyards. But through it all, they’ve fought to hold onto the place they love.
We Are North Nashville: The Podcast is about the lives of elders who call North Nashville home, in their own words. It’s about the ways the elders have kept joy alive in their neighborhood in spite of all the challenges it has faced. It’s about the history that newcomers to the city don’t always know, or even think to ask about. It’s about walking the streets and still seeing the way people held this place together, even when city planners set about ripping it apart.
This is a show about North Nashville. It’s also a story about the United States, where Black communities have been cut apart, razed and deprived for generations in the name of progress that does not include them. More importantly, We Are North Nashville is what happens when the people who live history get to tell it.
