He retired once in 2017, but returned to win gold with the U.S. national team and play in the inaugural season of the Premier Lacrosse League.

    Joey Sankey | S2 E8 Jun 11, 2019
    Show notes

Joey Sankey has been challenged more than most these past few years. Sankey, North Carolina’s all-time leading scorer, missed the better part of two seasons with multiple knee injuries — and a battle with testicular cancer.

But he prevailed. Sankey has been one of the toughest players on the field, and he’s had to be. At 5 feet, 5 inches, he’s had to hold his own in the game of lacrosse.

Now back to lacrosse as a member of the PLL’s Redwoods, Sankey reflects on the past few years with Paul Carcaterra.

    Lars Tiffany | S2 E7 Jun 04, 2019
    Show notes

Lars Tiffany’s lacrosse journey reached its peak on Memorial Day, when his Virginia team won its first national championship since 2011.

The title was a culmination of three years of building for Tiffany and the Cavaliers, who went from the ACC cellar to the pinnacle of college lacrosse. During his press conference, Tiffany was quick to pay homage to the roots of the game.

And it’s fitting. Tiffany grew up near the Onondaga reservation in Upstate New York, playing with Native Americans and working on his father’s bison farm. His love for lacrosse took him to Brown, where he played and later coached.

Through all of his coaching stops, Tiffany never lost his love for lacrosse. He speaks with Paul Carcaterra about what started it all, the inspiration from his parents, why he left Brown for Virginia and much more.

Kyle Harrison, the son of Morgan State legend Dr. Miles Harrison, had lacrosse in his DNA. He learned the game in the Baltimore suburbs, eventually taking his talents to Johns Hopkins.

He played multiple sports, but fell in love with lacrosse and pursued a career in the sport after an illustrious college career. Since then, he’s changed the sport for the better, raising its awareness on the national stage and advocating for inclusion for all people.

Now he’s taking on a new challenge with the Premier Lacrosse League. Harrison talks with Paul Carcaterra about his life, his remaining lacrosse career and why his advocacy matters for the sport.

He later attended Notre Dame for football, but he never lost his love for lacrosse. Years later, Golic Jr. is back to the sport, calling multiple games with the ESPNU crew this season.

Golic Jr. joins Paul Carcaterra to talk about his lacrosse beginnings, trying out for the NFL, his relationship with his father and the state of lacrosse today.

Now, Ratliff is a professional lacrosse player, and he’s giving back to the game he loves so much. Ratliff has traveled the world through the Give & Go Foundation and other organizations, coaching and sharing his passion for lacrosse.
