I'm so excited to say that my guest in this episode is founder and CEO of VioletteFR, Guerlain's Creative Director of Makeup and mother of two, the wonderful Violette Serrat.
Violette, (who is the absolute epitomy of French chic) shares her story...the story of a young makeup artist with a lot of drive and passion who did things HER way and by following her instinct and being just a little bit daring, has had an exciting and exceptionally successful career.
During the episode we talk about her career journey, her approach to makeup, working with huge brands, starting her own (incredible) one and how she juggles motherhood with an incredibly busy career. In this episode I chat to the amazing Dani Gilbert. Dani who is known as Dani G on Instagram, has suffered with alopecia since the age of one. She has always used her platform to raise awareness of her condition with the hopes of changing society’s perceptions of beauty standards.Over the years, she has grown a huge following on both her instagram and Tik Tok by creating beauty looks catering to those with alopecia or other hair loss conditions on her social media.
During the episode Dani opens up about her alopecia and how it has affected her over the years. Whilst being honest about the lows, she also has such a positive attitude and talks about how she has come to a place where she is confident to be seen without her wig and wants to empower people to feel beautiful even if they don't fit society's "conventional" image beauty.
Dani adores makeup and creates the most incredible looks on her channels and we also have a fab chat about some of her favourite products.

Dr Thivi Maruthappu - Healthy, Happy Skin! Jul 01, 2023

In this episode I interview the truly brilliant dermatologist and nutritionist Dr Thivi Maruthappu.
Dr Thivi is a consultant dermatologist, nutritionist and researcher. As the UK's first dual-qualified dermatologist and nutritionist, her pioneering expertise bridges the gap between diet and skin health. She works in the NHS and has her own practice based at London's Cleveland Clinic. She also conducts research on nutrition and the skin at King's College, London, where she is an honorary senior lecturer.
Most recently Thivi has written one of the best books about skin that I've read in a very very long time. It's called "SkinFood: Your 4-Step Solution to Healthy, Happy Skin" and in it she gives the most brilliant advice about how to get our very best skin by taking a 360 approach that takes stress, diet, lifestyle and topical treatments into conseideration.
During the episode we talk through Dr Thivi's brilliant approach and how we can apply it to our lives. Her advice is excellent and I walked away from the interview excited make some changes not only for my skin but for my general health.

Having been one of the founding team members of Bulldog Skincare, Ben was desperate to do his own thing but he knew that it needed to be something that stood out in the crowded skincare market as well as truly benefitting the environment.
Cue solid skincare! And when I say solid I'm talking actives too. Ben has worked tirelessly with his formulator to make solid Vitamin C and Retinoids and my mind is honestly blown.
Ben is such an inspiring guy and I love his story and what he's doing. I hope you leave this episode feeling as excited as I am. I know it's only skincare but when people bring something new and creative to the table it makes me very happy indeed.
