101: Unusual Animal Kidnappings and Mutilations with Shane McClelland May 16, 2022
    Show notes

    CW: ANIMAL DEATH, ANIMAL KIDNAPPING

On September 21, 1967 Harry King went to the fence to give Nelly Lewis' prized Appaloosa Horse, Lady, her usual treat for the day. He grew concerned when she failed to show up. A short time later, her body was found, mutilated. Lady's death was quick to make newspaper headlines because of the unusual condition her remains were in, and investigators were quick to link the case to UFO activity in the area.

From there, cases of animal mutilation were reported en masse, leading to public enquires from state governors and other officials. Throughout the 70s and 80s, Mutilation cases were documented in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Montana and Texas, along with Puerto Rico.

While these mutilation cases fit a certain pattern, on this episode, paranormal investigator and co-host of The Q Files, Shane McClelland, joins me to discuss the most unusual cases, including the "rapture" of a calf in Brazil, a poaching on the Cheshire River in England and an unusual sheep slayer in Bolivia.

100: Hostile UFOs with Derek Hayes May 09, 2022
    Show notes

UFO witnesses who describe contact with otherworldly beings are often told "do not be afraid", that the beings "mean them no harm." On this episode of the Our Strange Skies podcast, the opposite is the case.

For this episode I'm joined by Derek Hayes, the host of the Monsters Among Uspodcast, a paranormal expert for the Travel Channel's Paranormal Caught on Camera and one of the creators behind the upcoming documentary Shadows in the Desert, to discuss UFOs that shoot beams at the witnesses that shoot their guns. We cover a number of cases from Brazil and Argentina, as well as a few from the US of young boys being burned by UFOs.

Take cover under the... well... covers and join us for a hair raising, spine tinglingly frightening episode!

99: The Trancas Incident & Associated Synchronicities with Stephanie Quick May 02, 2022
    Show notes

When I ask a guest to be on the podcast, I often given them a list of topics to chose from, but with Stephanie Quick it started with a DM that began "Are you familiar with the Trancas Incident?" I don't know why Stephanie was the right person for this episode, but she was. The deeper we looked into this incident, the more synchronicities we found.

Seven years after the Trancas Incident took place, Oscar A. Galíndez returned to Trancas to re-interview the witnesses in this case, and presented a fuller picture of what happened in that night in 1963. Through Oscar's story we found deep symbolism, physical effects, birthday synchronicities, mythical overtones, and much more!

    Show notes

It's safe to say that the new logo for the podcast is a fair representation of what would happen if I were to meet an alien in an open field. For our guest this week, Katie Webb, the opposite is the case. She talks candidly about her experiences and her takeaways from them.

On this installment of our Witness series, Katie talks about her first UFO encounter, incidents in which mysterious iodine would appear on her skin, and the fact that her cat might know too much?

97: The Giant UFOs of the Yukon with Bex Atwood Apr 18, 2022
    Show notes

The Yukon has this reputation where the sky is a theater itself. It’s a place known for its lights in the sky, where from August to April the Northern Light can be seen against a backdrop of stars.

It’s the kind of isolated place that you’d think most UFOs would avoid, but in the mid 1990s, Yukon became a place where enormous UFOs would be reported. The first sightings would come in late 1995 from the nearby Northwest Territories. Leo Norwegian, an elder from the Lı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation came forward in January of 1996 with a sighting he’d had that previous November.

From there the folks of UFO*BC would document the sightings of Sarah Baker and Sue Malcolm, twin sisters who owned a gold claim and observed a gigantic cigar shaped object directly over it.

Later that year, 22 people claimed to see an object that was approximately a half mile wide. These sightings were so good that they were able to estimate the size base on the triangulation of the reports.

Bex Atwood, who is ⅓ of Liminal Earth, and a frequent contributor on NiteDrift with Jim Perry of the Euphomet podcast, joins us to discuss the gigantic UFOs of the Yukon.

96: The Space People Roam the Hallways: UFOs as Ghosts with Amanda Paulson Apr 11, 2022
    Show notes

In 1968 Gordon Creighton of Flying Saucer Review received a rather angry letter from a man named F.D. Marrow of Flemington, New Jersey. Marrow, a Klass apologist, was concerned that he was doing a disservice to UFO research by comparing UFOs and ghostly phenomenon. “On this basis UFOs will never communicate with the authorities or the average man, and we will have to depend on mediums, and others with so-called psychic insight for information – and of course such reports can never be substantiated.”

As a response, in the September/October 1968 edition of Flying Saucer Review, Creighton published an article called “Strangers About the House” which detailed ghostly encounters with human resembling beings wearing space suits and appearing like TV images.

Mediums contacting beings from “other worlds” was nothing new, and in fact, noted medium Vesta La Viesta did so in the 1800s. By the mid to late 1960s, new theories crept into mainstream UFO research, suggesting that these craft may not even be physical, but from dimensions unseen to the human eye.

I’m joined by paranormal investigator Amanda Paulson, who has been investigating the paranormal for over 14 years, and is the star of the upcoming documentary, Death is With Me to discuss when UFOs and ghostly phenomenon cross the streams.

95: The Year of the Humanoids, Pt. 3: The Pascagoula Abduction with Bradley Netherton Apr 04, 2022
    Show notes

1973 was an unprecedented year for abduction cases. 10 abduction cases were reported that year, 8 of which occurred during a 17 day period from October 11-28. Many of them would become infamous in the UFO community. The abduction of Patty Roach and her children was featured in an episode of In Search Of... alongside the story of Carl Higdon. The model for Brian Scott's repeated abduction experiences would go on to mirror those reported in books by people like Budd Hopkins and John Mack.
The Pascagoula Abduction is the most well known from 1973. The story of Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker are among the most relatable. Two men went fishing on the evening of October 11, 1973 and had an experience that people are still talking about today. Years later, additional eyewitnesses have come forward adding more validity to their story. And of course, there is the infamous tape.
On this episode of the Our Strange Skies podcast, Bradley Netherton from the Kolchak's Loop podcast joins me to discuss the case, and what the area is like to someone who is local to it.

94: The Year of the Humanoids, Pt. 2: The David Webb Report with Spencer Wirth-Davis Mar 28, 2022
    Show notes

"The fall of 1973 saw one of the largest and most concentrated waves of UFO reports in history... But the strangest reports from 1973 were of humanoid entities often seen in association with UFOs. I recorded 70 reports of this type during the 5 months from August through December, 1973. Of these, 55 took place in the continental United States, 36 in October and seven on a single day, October 17, with two more occurring on the night of October 16."

Thus begins David Webb's infamous report, 1973 - The Year of the Humanoids. David Webb had been collecting reports of humanoids for years, compiling them into the Humanoid Catalog or HUMCAT. And for this episode I drew heavily from both the report and the HUMCAT to bring you an insane, overstuffed episode featuring some of the wildest humanoid reports in all of ufology.

In Draugignan, France four men had a terrifying encounter with tall beings and a pair of red luminous legs. In Albany, Ohio Mary Geddis returned to find a floating specter hovering above her driveway. Later that night, a short figure peeked in from an open door. In Goffstown, New Hampshire, residents saw a number of strange beings in an around the town, and in the south, there was more of the same.

Spencer Wirth-Davis (Finding Quantum Quest& The What If? Podcast) joins me to dive into the infamous David Webb Report.

93: The Year of the Humanoids, Pt. 1: The Piedmont Lights & Coyne Helicopter Case with Kay Gray Mar 21, 2022
Show notes The Year of the Humanoids was a unique time in UFO history. Over the course of four months, the eastern United States saw a high concentration of UFO sightings characterized by unique humanoids in association with them. Bigfoot type creatures, BAEliens, catfish-like creatures, and a myriad of other odd beings doing odd things.
During that time in 1973 a pair of cases stood out. For months, in and around the small town of Piedmont, Missouri, numerous residents reported encounters with mysterious orange lights, and strange crafts of all shapes and sizes.
Later that year, in October, a helicopter over Mansfield, Ohio had a remarkable encounter with a UFO that forced their plane to make evasive maneuvers and was even responsible for a mysterious change in elevation.

The Place Bonaventure Hotel Incident is the quintessential UFO event involving a big UFO hovering above the outdoor pool of a Hilton hotel in downtown Montreal. For nearly three hours, 40+ eyewitnesses looked upon a UFO, including journalists, police officers, members of the RCMP, and military personnel.
On this episode, Brian Hastie from Double Densityand The Order of Podcastersjoins me to discuss this infamous, and various other UFO events around Quebec.
