Show notes

OUinsider.com & 247Sports analysts Brandon Drumm and Collin Kennedy discuss the Sooners struggle vs Baylor, along with the Covid-19 issues. The duo is also joined by 247Sports national recruiting director Steve Wiltfong and 247Sports national recruiting editor and west coast analyst Brandon Huffman.

Wiltfong and Huffman help Drumm and Kennedy in breaking down the Sooners remaining targets for the 2021 class. With a bunch of 5-stars still left on the board, can the Sooners close out in a big way?

Huffman breaks down the 5-star WR Emeka Egbuka saga, what the Sooners are getting in four-star DE/DL Nathan Rawlins-Kibonge. Huffman also talks about what a big hire Sooners DC Alex Grinch was for Lincoln Riley and states his opinion on what the Oklahoma Sooners brand is perceived as on the west coast.

Along with Wiltfong and Huffman, Drumm and Kennedy break down their thoughts on OU 5-star targets Bryce Foster, Camar Wheaton, Tristan Leigh, and Emeka Egbuka.

Drumm and Kennedy finish the podcast by discussing the Sooners matchup with West Virginia and what OU needs to do to have an impact/noticeable performance this coming Saturday in Morgantown (WV).

The duo discusses what Sooners QB Spencer Rattler needs to do to rebound from a rough performance last Saturday against the Baylor Bears and how Oklahoma can get the offense back on track. They also discuss what a return of Nik Bonitto would do for the OU defense, along with their picks of this year's Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. They discuss how Isaiah Thomas is a huge candidate, and if Ronnie Perkins has done enough. They also bring up names from a few other programs that should be considered for DPoY in the Big 12.

OUinsider Under the Visor Podcast: Sooners route Texas Tech, surge in recruiting with more to come? Nov 03, 2020

Show notes

Sooners hit the ground running on Saturday night and came away blowing out the Texas Tech Red Raiders 62-28. It was ironic that the first game Ronnie Perkins and Rhamondre Stevenson played was the same score as the first game of their suspension. Perkins and Stevenson have been out since the College Football Playoff Semis against LSU. A game in which the Tigers beat Oklahoma 62-28. Obviously, that LSU team was one for ages, but you see the difference Perkins and Stevenson made in their returns.

Sooners QB Spencer Rattler also talked about their returns and said that the team errupted when told they would be playing the night before game. That news led to Rattler telling the team "it's time we embarrass somebody" and that the Sooners did.

*** In this latest OUinsider Under the Visor Podcast, we discuss the Sooners route of the Texas Tech, the play of Spencer Rattler, the mentality of wanting to 'embarrass' and opponent and what Rhamondre Stevenson and Ronnie Perkins mean to this OU program going forward.

We also discuss the job Alex Grinch has done with the Sooners defense, if the Speed 'D' will be even more impressive next year and what this team COULD look like when guys like Jadon Haselwood, Brayden Willis, Delarrin Tuner-Yell, Charleston Rambo, Caleb Kelly, Justin Harrington, Marcus Hicks, LaRon Stokes, Trejan Bridges and the 2021 class gets into Norman for the 2021 season. Could this program be on the verge of having a talent pool that rivals that of Clemson and Alabama? Our guys Brandon Drumm, Collin Kennedy and Joey Helmer discuss it all!

The OUinsider analysts talk how they think the Sooners class will end with four predictions on five-star RB Camar Wheaton, five-star WR Emeka Egbuka, five-star OL Tristan Leigh, and four-star OL Savion Byrd. The trio talk if they think decisions will be made by December or not with the Elite 2021 Sooners targets!

Lastly, the OUinsider analysts discuss how big the pickup of 2021 four-star ATH Billy Bowman is for the program moving forward. Could it lead to more in-roads with Denton (TX) Ryan, one of the most prestigious programs in Texas High School Football?

LISTENERS: Be sure you sign-up for OUinsider VIP Board as December NSD draws closer! OUinsider/247Sports Under The Visor Podcast: OU/TCU pre-game podcast! 247Sports & HornedFrogBlitz.com, Jeremy Clark, joins Brandon & Collin to talk about a MUST win conf game for both teams!

Can the Sooners coral TCU quarterback Max Duggan and play four quarters against TCU like they have agains EVERY opponent the first three and a half quarters all season long? How will Gary Patterson's defense attack a young and still rather inexperienced Sooners RS freshman QB Spencer Ratter?

Show notes

Brandon Drumm was joined by OUinsider.com/247Sports colleagues Collin Kennedy, Joey Helmer and special guest, Horns247 Mike Roach, to talk the 2020 version of OU/Texas.

Can either team rebound and begin to make a big run in the 2020 season? Will Sam Ehlinger return after the 2020 season and it being a free season? What will it take for the Sooners to win this game and what will it take for the Longhorns to win?

The 247Sports analysts discuss the weirdness of OU/Texas and the lack thereof of a crowd inside the Cotton Bowl. How much of a role does that play, and does it help the first-time QB Spencer Rattler in a game that is notoriously hard on first-time starters in this game? How much of an advantage does Texas have with Ehlinger at the helm and his experience in the ball game?

Lastly, Brandon Drumm, Collin Kennedy and Mike Roach talk OU/Texas recruiting battles and where they feel the teams will end up when the 2021 cycle is over and more.
