iPad and iPad Pro 2022 + iPhone 14 Pro review Oct 20, 2022
    Show notes

Apple dumped three new iPads, and a new Apple TV 4K on us this week.

Gadgets 360 executive editor Jamshed Avari and reviews editor Roydon Cerejo join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss all of them.

The new 10th-gen redesigned iPad loses the home button, gains USB Type-C, and is boosted in price. It now starts at Rs. 44,900 in India.

The sixth-gen iPad Pros get 5G and Apple’s M2 chip, but that too means price increases. The 11-inch model begins at Rs. 81,900, while the 12.9-inch variant is all the way up at Rs. 1,12,900.

Thankfully, the new Apple TV 4K is getting a lower price, now available at Rs. 14,900.

Tune into the new Orbital episode to hear us talk about all those. And stay till the end for our iPhone 14 Pro review.

    5G is here. Should you buy a 4G phone? Oct 07, 2022
    Show notes

5G is starting to roll out in India. Is this still a good time to purchase a 4G-only smartphone?

Gadgets 360 senior reviewer Sheldon Pinto and reviewer Pranav Hegde join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss just that — through the perspective of the Moto G72.

Read: Moto G72 hands-on: promising all-rounder misses out on 5G

Launched earlier this week, the Moto G72 is a sub-Rs. 20,000 phone that offers a 120Hz HDR OLED display, a 108-megapixel rear camera, and a big 5000mAh battery. But there’s no 5G.

Pinto and Hegde offer their expert views, to help you decide whether you should buy a 4G phone in India today, or opt for a 5G alternative from Moto, Redmi, OnePlus, and beyond.

Moto Edge 30 Ultra and Fusion review Sep 23, 2022
    Show notes

Motorola has bigger ambitions in India, as it forays into iPhone and Galaxy S territory.

Gadgets 360 senior reviewer Sheldon Pinto and reviewer Pranav Hegde join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss the Edge 30 Ultra and Fusion.

Read: Edge 30 Ultra hands-on: checking all the boxes

The Rs. 60,000 Edge 30 Ultra has everything on paper: the latest Snapdragon chip, 125W fast charging, and promise of three Android updates. Oh, I forgot the highlight feature: a 200-megapixel rear camera. But there are problems.

Read: Edge 30 Fusion hands-on: a new flagship killer in town

Its Rs. 40,000 sibling, the Edge 30 Fusion, is being dubbed a flagship killer. While it’s behind on the chipset, it doesn’t compromise elsewhere: lightweight, 8K recording, and a curved display. Is that enough?

Tune into the latest Orbital episode, as Pinto and Hegde tell us more.

    Redmi 11 Prime 5G review Sep 16, 2022
    Show notes

The Redmi 11 Prime 5G is the latest entry in a long list of 5G capable smartphones that have launched in India before the next generation connectivity rolls out in the country later this year.

Gadgets 360 reviewer Pranav Hegde and consultant sub editor Siddhant Chandra join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss Redmi's latest affordable smartphone.

Buying an affordable 5G smartphone at this price point usually means you will end up paying a "5G tax". What does that mean for those looking to get access to 5G networks as soon as they launch? Should you buy a more capable 4G phone instead? Find out on this week's episode.

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus + 14 Pro and Pro Max + Apple Watch Ultra Sep 08, 2022
    Show notes

Eight — yes, eight! — new Apple devices were launched at the Far Out event. (Gadgets 360 was there!) And you can pre-order most of them this week.

Gadgets 360 executive editor Jamshed Avari, reviews editor Roydon Cerejo, and senior reviewer Sheldon Pinto join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss all of them.

In India, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are more expensive than ever, starting at Rs. 1,29,900 and Rs. 1,39,900, respectively. For that money, you get an all-new design with Dynamic Island, an always-on display that looks cool as heck, and a new 48-megapixel main camera.

The iPhone 14, however, retains pricing status quo — Rs. 79,900 — but sadly, it’s saddled with last year’s A15 Bionic chip. It’s also now the most affordable option, with a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus coming in at Rs. 89,900.

Over in the wrist section, Apple has introduced the Watch Ultra with a bonkers Rs. 89,900 tag. It’s almost twice as heavy as the new Series 8, which has some new sensors but not much. There’s also a new Watch SE, with the same chipset as others, and the same old launch price.

Lastly, there’s the AirPods Pro 2, which are also more expensive than before at Rs. 26,900. For that, you get a new H2 chip, longer battery life, and personalised spatial audio.

Phew, we are done. Hit play to hear us delve into all those announcements, sprinkled with hands-on first impressions.

iPhone 14 leaks — everything we know Sep 01, 2022
    Show notes

Is Apple committing a sin by splitting the iPhone 14 from the 14 Pros?

Gadgets 360 executive editor Jamshed Avari and senior reviewer Ali Pardiwala join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss all the leaks.

The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are said to be getting rid of the notch, and will instead opt for a dual cutout. They might also get a 48-megapixel rear camera, one that’s capable of 8K video recording. Who needs that?

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 will keep the notch, and its smaller sibling — the mini — is reportedly going away, to be replaced with a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. Wait, why? Tune into the episode to discover.

We might be getting three new Apple Watches, including an expected Series 8, a budget SE 2, and what some are calling the Extreme Sports. The last of them will be a rugged watch, and might be crazy expensive.

Hit play to find out everything that could be announced at next week’s Apple event, including a never-seen-before chip split between the non-Pro and Pro iPhones.
