Instead of Spring Ball, Pro Days or March Madness... we're talking about Pickleball brawls, the saga of Afroman, and quadruple amputee cornhole players with homicide allegations... Welcome to OBB Benched!

We start with the saga of Afroman, who sued an entire police department and then roasted them on the Internet. Everyone chimes in on how much we love the story, and how funny it was that Afroman was most pissed about the cops stealing his mom's lemon pound cake!

From there we get into the wild story about the pickleball brawl at a Florida seniors community, involving a golf cart chase and an alligator, which leads us into stories about the dumbest fights we've ever gotten into. And hands-down the craziest story of the week about the quadruple amputee who allegedly shot an acquaintance then drove away, which ends in absolute hysterics.

As always Roman closes out the show with Five Questions - which include our favorite Chuck Norris jokes, how we feel about the new Ruth's Chris dress policy, the job we would never do for $10 million a year, one thing we wish we found in our attics, and who we would trust to arrange a marriage for us.

#445: Miami Opens Spring Practice - Portal Humping Mar 26, 2026

We welcome Scoop back to the show after a week in Mexico with tales from Cartel Beach about tequila and fighting TSA lines on his way home, including a wild story about how he missed his flight back to South Florida. Then we get down to Greentree to talk about Miami's amazing pro day, including Kieonte Scott going beast-mode and impressing the entire country. We're also excited to see how it all plays out on Draft night, and where the Canes land in the first round.

And Spring practice is officially underway, and everyone was most impressed with Dereon Coleman and the way he's slinging the ball early in practice. Josh Pate also has high praise for the way Mario runs his practices, and how brutally physical they are, and how the rest of college football wishes they could pull that off at their schools. Scoop also weighs in on the projected two-deep projections and how deep the wide receiver room is this season.

We also enjoy TCU head coach Sonny Dykes absolutely destroying his former QB Josh Hoover, who signed a $2 million deal with Indiana. And we also have huge props for Jai Lucas after an amazing season of Miami basketball comes to an end in the round of 32, which also spins us into the debate whether or not Michael Jordan will come back to coach North Carolina.

#443: Miami in the Tournament - Cartel Beach Mar 19, 2026

We open the show this week with a quick recap of our "Rejected Show Titles" Bracket now that we have teams assigned to all these hilarious throw-away titles. From there it's deep into Miami's first-round match-up with Missouri, and where Miami will need to improve in order to make a deep run.

Our friends at 247 dropped their two-deep projections for Miami going into the season, and the more we look at it, the more confident we feel that this team will make a big push again this season. We dive into the depth in the Running Backs room, and how these offensive lineman will hold up with an almost entirely new crew. And on the defense we are all really excited to have Ahmad Moten back again, with hopes that he could become a stalwart of the Miami defense this season.

FanDuel also dropped their expected win totals for the 2026 season, with Miami near the top of the list, and somehow Notre Dame is sitting ahead of us, even though the line for the upcoming game in November has grown to 4.5 favorites for Miami. We also have early Heisman odds that include both Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney - with Josh Pate making his case for Darian Mensah.

We start with audio of the week from two separate heartbreaking losses, including the orgasmic call of the LA marathon runner who won at the very last second. (Toast seemed to enjoy this one a little too much.) Plus audio of the New York high school baseball team that lost on the final "strike" of the game, and the hapless young announcer that didn't even know what was going on as it was happening.

Even more crazy audio comes from a Michigan court, where a woman is accused of having sex in a Zoom court meeting and gets called out by the judge - who actually stopped court to go back and watch the video! And finally the craziest story of the week about the Cal State Bakersfield assistant basketball coach who was moonlighting as a PIMP across four states - wild!!

#441: Miami's #1 ACC Quarterback - Claude is Their OC Mar 13, 2026

As we kick off episode 441, we are reminded of the old Zeta "Miss 441" pageant - which spins us into memories of our South Florida youth and Happy Pappy's. And the guys address the amount of swearing on the podcast in the last few months, and how we will now be instituting safe words each week on the show to curb it back. But we quickly get down to the Greentree and break down CBS Sports ranking Darian Mensah as the #1 quarterback in the ACC, and we look down the entire Top 10 and try to figure out where some of these guys actually played last year.

We also jump into ESPN's write-up on Miami's "challenging" offseason, in that teams that have made their title runs in previous years have not found a way back to the title game. But everyone seems to think Miami's recruiting and reloading is the difference in getting the Canes back into the mix pretty quickly. That includes Mario going in on a lot of the big South Florida recruits and trying to keep these guys home like Rueben Bain Jr did.

From the Greentree, we transition over to the Watco, as Miami Basketball knocked off Louisville and advanced to the semifinals of the ACC tournament and set themselves up for a March Madness bid. And we shouldn't be surprised that Jai Lucas got overlooked for Coach of the Year in the ACC, even though he was clear-and-away the most deserving for the award. Plus after a few struggles for Miami baseball, Toast and Roman weigh in on where this team needs improvement to make a run when it counts this summer.

#439: Miami's New Coaches - Tell The Cartels We Said Hi Mar 05, 2026

We are right into the offseason stories by getting sidetracked by Bourbon talk and Scoop's upcoming vacation to Mexico, before we dive into the new coaching staff hires at Miami. The one that seems to be getting all the attention has been Mike Viti as the tight ends coach, specifically because he was Army's offensive line coach previously - which goes to show a tight end will never miss a block in a big spot again! Plus adding a new perspective to the tight end room could bolster the usage and creativity of the tight ends in the offensive scheme, if Dawson's offense is willing to be more tight end friendly.

Plus we touch on Mario's inclusion in TIME Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential People in Sports, including our boy Josh Pray weighing in like only he can, and whether or not that's a real thing or an internet hoax. Brad Crawford also puts Miami at #1 in his way-too-early bowl predictions and how that makes us feel looking at the schedule ahead of us in 2026.

And we touch on the successes of Miami basketball, with the prediction that Jai Lucas will be the ACC Coach of the Year in his first season. That spins us into the upcoming Show Title March Madness bracket and how it will follow the course of the tournament. And despite a couple of tough losses we talk a little about Miami baseball, who is looking to rebound against Bethune - as Toast talks about his stress level when he watches his nephew play.
