This week I’m on a mission with self-made multi-millionaire Matt Fiddes, a world-renowned martial arts expert who has built a global fitness empire in over 1000 locations and was also Michael Jackson’s personal bodyguard and best friend for over ten years.
From a bullied schoolboy to earning £100K a month by the age of 18, Matt went on to travel the world as MJ’s bodyguard and shares some rare insights as to what it was REALLY like within MJ’s inner circle. We have a frank discussion about Michael’s genius, his struggles with fame, the truth behind the controversial child abuse allegations and who is really to blame for his untimely death.
Matt’s achievements have seen him honoured at the highest level, after being inducted into the UK Martial Arts Hall of Fame and presented with the prestigious ‘Martial Arts Superstar Award’. This week, I’m on a very different mission as I find myself interviewed by my good friend and soon to be business partner, Billy Farrell, who is one of the few people who has been up close from day one of this crazy adventure.
For the 75th episode we wanted to do something a bit different so it was my turn to be on the receiving end of the questions. In true Ellie and Billy style, we get deep and meaningful right from the start as Billy probes me for an honest and real insight into the journey.
People look at what we have achieved within a short space of time and think it must of all been plain sailing but I often use the swan analogy. It may look elegant gliding along but what people don’t see is the hard work underneath the surface.
It’s been a rollercoaster for sure and I always try and share the lows as well as the highs (maybe too much so) but I’m so proud of what Mark Mckay and I have achieved together whilst also knowing that the best is yet to come.

From homelessness to CEO, the incredibly inspiring journey of Yemi Penn is an empowering way for anyone to kickstart the New Year!
A situation only has the meaning that we choose to attach to it which Yemi has demonstrated time and time again. At age seven, she was sexually abused by a family member which she suppressed for decades until she felt worthy enough to heal and communicate her experience. Irrespective of what our pain is, owning it liberates and affirms us which has led to Yemi creating her first documentary titled ‘Did I Choose My Trauma?’.
Having spent a big part of her childhood in Nigeria and being homeless as a single parent to two children, Yemi almost inherited the story that suggested life needed to be a struggle. In her wildest dreams, she couldn’t have imagined that the life she now lives was even possible. Not just the phenomenal level of business success she has achieved but the unique perspective she has adopted not just from philosophy or coaching techniques but from lived experience.
She is absolutely smashing life out of the park speaking on TEDx stages and was recently interviewed by best-selling author, Jack Canfield where she discussed her work in the mindset transformational space.
