Show notes

Hunter is in town which means it's time again to hang out with E.J. and play some couch multiplayer! We're trying to hit stone-cold classic right now, so that means it's time for Mario Kart 64! But it's hard to talk about Mario Kart without talking about ALL Mario Kart games, so stick around for a sub-ranking of all Mario Kart Games.

Show notes

Does anyone else remember loving this game? I remember loving this game. Am I being pranked? Isn't this one of my favorite games? Mirror's Edge definitely seemed like a big deal at the time, but then I forgot to think about it for like 8 years so now I'm not so sure what's going. So let's see if it still holds up!

Show notes

We're continuing (and probably putting a pause on) our Kingdom Hearts journey with the Gameboy Advance sequel (or is it a prequel to Kingdom Hearts 2?). This game is often called one of the worst Kingdom Hearts games even by diehard fans of the series...so how will that bode for it's placement on The List?

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (2001) May 17, 2022

Show notes

We're still hanging out in the late 90s and early 2000s with more arcadey classics! This week was almost Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, but we JUST did a PS1 game, and 3 is better anyways, dangit! This is one of Matt's favorite sports games and something Hunter has little to no fondness for! Is this a game for skaters or is it a corporate sell out? Can it be both?!

Show notes

Matt and Hunter were in the same place for a weekend, which is why you're getting a few episodes in a row of this particular era and breed of video game. This time, it's one from Hunter's childhood, vehicular car combat legend Twisted Metal 2. So many things about this game are "out-dated," but does that make it bad, or does that make it a product of it's time? Who cares, it's all Beavis and Butt-head jokes.

GoldenEye 007 (1997) [w/ E.J. Sanders and Kimmy Martens] May 03, 2022

Show notes

It's time to get cool again and talk about one of those college dorm classics: GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64. There are a lot of folks out there who hold this game firmly in their nostalgia, and today we're here to tell them to let it go. This one can die and be a historical event. We also bring back crowd favorite as well as introduce highly anticipated guest: Matt's cousin Kimmy. Listen, we wanted to play 4 player GoldenEye, and this was our crew, and each of our voices deserves to be heard!

Kirby Super Star (1996) Apr 26, 2022

Show notes

This one is a stone cold classic straight out of Matt's Nostalgia Bag. Is it the perfect Kirby game? Can such a thing exist? Does Hunter have any room left in his big video game noggin for this pink cutie? Am I going to keep asking questions until I feel like this episode description is sufficiently long? Yes.

Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy (2017) Apr 19, 2022

Show notes

Well today is a weird one. Matt has come a long way in his relationship with difficulty and frustration and this is a chance to put that to the test. But the real test is the fact that Hunter is actually playing and trying to beat Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy for the first time while recording the episode. Experience the highs and the lows in real time and see if Hunter can Get Over It with Matt jabbering on in his ear.
