Episode 61 - Hidden Traitor Games and digging up bones. Aug 12, 2019

Show notes

This week we deep dive into Hidden Traitor games, what they mean, what our favorite examples, and ones we would like to try. We also bring back up some old grieves and try to work through the wounds we thought were healed. Things go off the rails a bit when we can’t figure out who has wronged the other one the most. We miss Charzillion, as he wasn’t able to join in with us this week. He’s taking some much needed family time between trips out of town.

“This was the can of worms that I accidentally wanted to not actually want to open, but I wanted it to open, because now it’s open, and then now I’m like regretting what I opened.” - Bear.

Episode 60 - If You Could Freeze Time Aug 08, 2019

Show notes

What would you do if you could freeze time with no consequences? You might regret asking that question but Bear, Charzillion, and GirlDadGamer all give their answers anyway.

We also discuss a few games, and what’s going on in life, talk a tiny bit about the Fortnite World Cup millionaires it created. There are more details for the Star Realms Bracket that is currently underway, and we started a new GamePass Roulette segment.

Is a simulator a game? What makes a game a game, and does a simulator count?

We have a couple of listener questions to tackle, and we discuss what Saboteur really is, no short jokes!

Sorry for the delay in getting this out to you guys, life has been insane. Love you all.

Episode 59 - Star Realms Bracket? Jul 30, 2019

Show notes

In Episode 59 we talk about a couple of physical card games we have played recently, Charzillion talks about being addicted to Skyrim how to cheat and get goodies and money.

We continue our Vodka discussion, and how to slow someone down by carefully choosing the drink you make for them.

What are the different types of “Shooting Games” and how are they different from one another? Are there shooter games that are kid safe? Are puzzle games like Portal considered “shooters?”

For the Discord members, we are also starting a Star Realms Bracket, details to come!

Episode 58 - We Have a Crystal Ball Jul 22, 2019

Show notes

Welcome back to Offset Radio, today we have a special guest with us. Mellified briefly discusses his credentials for background leading into what I believe is a great conversation about the future of cloud based gaming.

We’ll talk about how his time at Blizzard working on World of Warcraft helps him to see the possible missteps coming from some major players in the gaming market. We also discuss what the funnel looks like for casual gamers transitioning into hardcore gamers and how casual gamers could hurt cloud streaming more than they can help.

Microsoft Xcloud, Xbox, Google Stadia, and others are all fair game as we take a deep dive look into our crystal ball.
