Today’s word of the day is ‘fork’ as in a fork in the road as in Kyrie Irving is at a point in his career he needs to make a decision. Should he go left and continue his NBA career or should he go right and focus on his life outside of the game? Kyrie Irving has missed the past five games with ‘personal reasons’ and that’s it. Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks released a statement and it just wasn’t a strong enough response to Kyrie’s whereabouts. (10:40) What in the world is going on with the Houston Rockets? James Harden is completely fed up with his life in Houston. The Rockets have the 2nd worst record in the Western Conference. Harden is making life miserable so what should the team do? Belichick turns down Presidential Medal of Freedom (1/12) Jan 12, 2021

Today’s word of the day is ‘crossed’ as in when you cross your fingers and toes when you say something as in not telling the truth as in Patriots head coach Bill Belichick turned down the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump. This has become major news, but the biggest part of this story was seeing the statement that Bill Belichick put out. (16:02) Doug Pederson has been fired by the Philadelphia Eagles about 10 minutes after we released Monday’s show. On that show we talked about how owner Jeff Lurie didn’t share the vision Pederson had for him. Lurie’s comments were ridiculous. (23:20) Review - Boogie Nights (28:43) So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on what commissioner Gary Bettman had to say about revenue loss, expansion, and NHL TV deals. Today’s word of the day is ‘slime’ as in Nickelodeon as in the NFL and ViacomCBS partnered to broadcast an alternate viewing experience for kids to watch the Chicago Bears vs the New Orleans Saints game. It was filled with slime and SpongeBob and animations and fun. It was a new and innovative way to show a game and capture a young audience. Will other leagues and networks try and capitalize on this new way? (8:15) Francisco Lindor was introduced by the New York Mets today. It was a Zoom! What a world. He was asked about long-term deal and although he didn’t say it… we all know he wants it done fast. (15:15) So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me if the Washington Nationals signing Kyle Schwarber had anything to do with the universal DH. (22:02) Review - The Infinite Race. (25:30) The Houston Texans hired the Korn Ferry search firm to find its next GM. Cal McNair paid Korn Ferry $600K and ignored them. So what happened? DeShaun Watson got very mad about not having any say in the GM search or the head coaching search. It is a danger zone. There was a coup attempt in Washington D.C. at the Capitol building yesterday. It happened live on television. It happened because of the disgusting and harmful rhetoric our president has used for the past four years. It was not a protest. It was not a rally. It was not a gathering. It was coup attempt by domestic terrorists. It was a sad day for America, and change is needed. This whole episode today will be us trying to process what happened yesterday and what the future looks like if change doesn’t happen. #waittosee

Excuse me? How is this possible? Is this fair from the NFL (0:06)? UPDATE: Chan Gailey has resigned as the offensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins a day after a fake account said he’d been fired. Lovely (9:19)! So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me how do I feel about the NHL selling the naming rights to their four divisions for the 2021 season. Interesting (13:15). Review - Soul (29:15). The Nothing Personal Pick of the Day: we’re 0-2 on the year, but Super Wild Card Weekend is approaching and we have winners (33:05). We need to talk about Russell Wilson again.
