They are on a roll now! In this update, Amanda and Abe head to a local favorite, The Quilt Crossing, to buy the fabric for Abe's quilt. They plan out what type of fabric Abe wants for each part of the pattern, and they dove in head first! Thankfully it didn't take them too long to find what they needed and they left happy! Abe is looking forward to cutting up the fabric and getting started on his quilt! They have to get as much done as they can in the next couple of weeks because Abe gets back to teaching university math courses for the fall semester! Enjoy the shopping trip and we'll see you for the next update!

Hello everyone! Today Amanda shares her best 3 reasons for being a quilt pattern tester for quilt pattern designers. She has tested several patterns and shares the perks of the process. Skill building is important as a quilter, and pattern testing is one way you can do that. Being part of a testing group is a way to build up the quilting community and create a space of collaboration, vulnerability and growth. So if you've ever wondered about testing patterns, let Amanda convince you to do it! It's worth it!

Update number two on Abe learning how to quilt! After teaching him how to use the sewing machine and make a quarter inch seam, it is time for him to choose a pattern to make! He loves sacred geometry and wanted to find something that could fit in that category of aesthetics. We look at options, discuss what the pattern entails and talk about how we will try to accomplish the task of making his quilt! Our next step is to buy fabric! So stay tuned for that gem!

Amanda chats with math teacher/author/pattern writer/fabric designer/book lover/mom, Angela Pingel. The two discuss the ups and downs of life, parenting, owning your own business and everything in between. Angela recently released a new line of fabrics called Clueless with Windham Fabrics. Welcome to the Spain Edition of the Not Your Granny's Quilt Show Podcast! Abe and Amanda went to Barcelona for their anniversary (they've been married for 10 years!), and thought "hey, why don't we try to interview a quilter in Spain?!?" And here we are. We got in touch with Anna Martinez of Sew & Patch in Barcelona, Spain. She bravely welcomed us into her shop and agreed to speak with us at her store. She is a Bernina dealer and hosts sewing and patchwork classes in her shop. The walls are filled with threads of all colors, rotary cutters, rulers, needles... basically any sewing notion you could ever need! Amanda and Anna also spill the beans on their secret stashes of fabric. Oh well, at least Anna's secret will be safe since her husband doesn't know English. Amanda loved chatting with Anna, and she hopes you love her too! Gracias por vernos!

**This is part two!** Joining Amanda this week is Holly Clarke of Holly Clarke Design. Her creative Instagram handle (@holdmyseamripper) caught Amanda's eye, and she's been a fan ever since! They chat about design, finding quilting inspiration in the wild and running a creative business. Holly's main business is graphic design, and she also has a baby clothing business called Small Potatoes that she started in 2005. So her foray into designing quilts seems like a natural progression. Her eye for design and color is what makes her work stand out.

Julie of Running Stitch Quilts joins Amanda today to talk about that quilt life. Julie is a pattern designer, an avid fitness lover and a super mom. Natalie, the Sparkly Sewist herself, joined Amanda in conversation about getting started in sewing and quilting and their love of pretty fabric. She runs her shop out of her home, and loves to curate fabric bundles for quilts, as well as picking fabric combos for her doll clothes. Natalie has found a niche for doll lovers of all ages!
