    Show notes

Not A Bomb Presents The Classics is a series where Jose and Sammy join Troy and Brad to discuss some of the greatest films in history. This episode is a bit late for March, but we hope it's worth the wait. In this classic installment, the guys delve into Fritz Lang’s 1931 German suspense thriller - M. The film features Peter Lorre as Hans Beckert, a serial killer who targets children. The story revolves around the intense search for Beckert by the police and the criminal underworld. This film is notable for its early use of procedural drama elements and innovative cinematic techniques, such as long tracking shots and a musical leitmotif. “M” is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever and significantly influenced modern crime. How well does this 1931 classic hold up? Listen in to find out! Be sure to subscribe to the Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnite Cinema to hear more of Sammy. Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we dive into some of cinema's biggest box office failures and explore whether they deserve a second chance. Sword and Sandals month “swings” back into Robert E Howard-town with 1997’s Kull the Conqueror. Originally intended to be the third Conan film, Kull trades Arnold Schwarzenegger for Kevin Sorbo. Yeah, downgrade there. Also, somehow this film cost $35 Million and has some of the most fart rockiest, fart rock to ever fart rock. All that being said, is Kull the Conqueror worth a rewatch? Should Kevin Sorbo change his name to Kevin Snorebo? Would Fabio make a better Kull? Can the lovely and talented Tia Carrere save this thing? Listen and find out! Welcome back to Not A Bomb! Yes, we're still donning sandals, wielding swords, and delving into films that flopped at the box office. In this week's episode, we're diving into the work of one of our favorite directors once more: Guy Ritchie. This time, we’re exploring his interpretation of the Arthurian legend with the 2017 film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. And since we're revisiting Guy Ritchie's oeuvre, it’s only fitting to welcome Nate back to the show—he previously joined us for our last Guy Ritchie discussion. We completely forgot about this little detail and ended up sounding like complete idiots when it came up. Honestly, feeling lost is pretty much par for the course on this show. So sit back and enjoy the chaos!
