Beyond the Flannelgraph | Mountaintops & Valleys of Doubt Apr 22, 2024
    Show notes

The day-to-day Christian life is not a mountaintop experience. Life is messy and circumstances can cause us to doubt God. When doubt attacks our faith we need to keep pressing into the Lord.

In this episode Brody walks through the transfiguration of Jesus, the chaos that meets them when they get off the mountain, and how we should fight doubt. Listen as we consider 5 facets of God’s revelation that confirm Jesus’ glory.

Let’s submit our doubt to the Lord and let it grow us closer to Christ.

Sin is deceptive and deceitful. It can cause us to turn away from the Lord.

In this episode, Brody continues his conversation about Demas and walks through 7 things we must guard against to remain faithful to the end. Demas traded faithfulness to the Lord for a love of the world. Do not forsake the Gospel for what the world offers.

Let’s hold fast, live with a conviction of the Holy Spirit, and stay faithful.

Beyond the Flannelgraph | Demas, Drifting, & How to Stay Faithful Apr 08, 2024
    Show notes

How do we live faithfully for the Lord and prevent drifting away?

In this episode, Brody discusses the life of Demas, why people tend to drift away, and how we can stay faithful. Demas was once a co-laborer with Paul on the mission field, but abandoned Paul when he was needed most.

Scripture tells us Demas thought the world offered him something greater than what the Lord provided. People are often influenced by the latest movement or ideology, but these movements don’t last.

However, the Gospel is unchanging. It is eternal and outlasts cultural movements. Let’s hold fast to Jesus and pursue him faithfully.

Beyond the Flannelgraph | God's Grace is Greater Than Your Failures Mar 25, 2024
    Show notes

Have you ever lived in shame and guilt over a mistake you made?

Scripture tells us that those who are in Christ are no longer condemned but set free from our sins. In this episode, Brody walks through 8 truths we can learn from Isaac and Rebecca’s mistake-filled lives. God chose to preserve and protect this family regardless of Isaac’s mistakes.

You are going to make mistakes throughout your life. But the trajectory of our lives should be one of faithfulness and obedience to the Lord. God is greater than our ability to mess things up. Isaac became a testimony and witness to the Lord’s grace.

Let’s learn from the life of Isaac and rest in the grace and freedom of the Lord.

    Show notes

A faithful pastor and shepherd is going to be obedient to the call of God.

In this episode, Brody continues his conversation on what makes a Biblical pastor, by walking through 1 Peter 5, where Peter offers wisdom to help pastors shepherd well.

Jesus is the Chief Shepherd. Pastors are under-shepherds because the sheep belong to the Lord. Being a pastor requires labor and hard work. Let’s love one another well, pray for our leaders, and serve in our local churches.

What Makes a Biblical Pastor Mar 12, 2024
    Show notes

What makes someone a good pastor? In this episode, Brody walks through 1 Peter, where Peter describes pastoral leadership, to show us what Biblical pastoral ministry looks like. Biblical church leadership is driven by a love for the Lord and a love for people.

God calls pastors to shepherd the church well, to be faithful to the Word, and to love the body well. Leaders are to be held accountable by the Word of God and other men in the church. Our hope and prayer is that you’re part of a church that strives to function biblically.

Attacking Deconstruction | A Prescription for Endurance Mar 04, 2024
    Show notes

How do we guard ourselves against deconstruction? Progressive Christianity starts by rejecting Jesus and creating a new idea of who Jesus is. In this episode, Brody breaks down how new ideologies can creep into our minds and how we should combat them.

We need to commit to studying Scripture to remind ourselves of the essential doctrines we hold to. The Bible is authoritative. Let’s surround ourselves with a godly community and find hope in the Gospel daily.

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus & Pursue Holiness Feb 19, 2024
    Show notes

Biblical masculinity is being attacked by our current culture. We need to pursue what the Bible has to say about being a godly man instead of listening to the world. This episode of NSR is from Snowbird’s recent Pure & Holy Retreat.

Brody walks through 4 things a man of God is defined by and 3 masculine virtues. Let’s think about what is godly. The Word of God has a renewing power in our minds. We need to stop making excuses, fix our eyes on Jesus, and pursue holiness.
