Season 2, Episode 10: My Mom Tried To Kill Herself: Sometimes your mess is your message Mar 17, 2020
    Show notes

Season 2, Episode 10: I specifically chose to air this episode this week, in honor of my upcoming book, Ten Steps To Finding Happy, and with the hopes of raising awareness of teen suicide prevention and the need to destigmatize mental health #10StepsEndTheStigma.

Unfortunately, this whole pandemic pain-in-the-ass crushed my dreams. Instead, we will be doing a virtual book launch on March 20th starting at 3 PM EST in the FB group Finding Happy.

Aloise blew me away when she suggested that maybe, somehow, on a deep, spiritual level, we chose our parents. We chose our parents to work through something we need to get to the next level of higher being. Sometimes your mess is your message, she suggested. And damn, it hit me hard. In this episode we talk about suicide, mental illness, and why we got saddled with the burden we did, and why we are the perfect people to carry that burden.

What's Up With Men and Therapy? Mar 09, 2020
    Show notes

Season 2, Episode 9: The difference in men who seek therapy and women who seek therapy is staggering. And yet...when a man loses his shit, it usually comes which much more dire consequences. So why won't men seek mental help?

In today's conversation I talk to Dr. John Schinnerer, who is just as much of a research dork as I am, has the same potty mouth I do, and was the psychological consultant for the Pixar movie "Inside Out."

(That's kinda the coolest part, no?)

Dr. John also has his own podcast, The Evolved Caveman, and specializes in working with men who excel in every aspect of their life -- except the ability to form solid, healthy, interpersonal relationships. Be sure to check out his pod, I'm a huge fan.

All You Need Is Love -- and maybe a little sperm Feb 27, 2020
    Show notes

Season 2, Episode 8: There is no better way to cap off February's theme of love, lust, and everything in between than this interview with Allie Fisher of The Mommy Confessions. It's trademarked, bitches!

At the time of this interview, Allie was uber pregnant with her second child, but she was a real trouper. Allie is far braver than I am, as she chose to do this whole child-bearing thing without a partner. Twice.

There is nothing that says love more than the love of a mother for a child -- especially during a temper tantrum.

Check out my interview with one of my new favorite people! Madam Chastain is a podcaster, a mom, a polyamorist, and a retired sex worker. She talks candidly about sex addiction, abuse, low self-esteem, and the journey she took to finally liking who she is. You can learn more about Chastain and her whole polyam family on the Pod Pod Cvlt Cast -- and yes, that Cvlt with a "V", which I think is sexy as hell.

Season 2, Episode 5: Welcome to February, lovely listeners! This month's episodes are going to be devoted to love, lust, and everything in between. And why not start the month with a great big bang!

    (pun intended)

In today's episode I talk with Sofia Fortin, founder of the Happy Vagina project, about sexuality after motherhood, how you can get your groove back, and why sex is vital in a good relationship. Also, stay tuned for a few tips about tantric sex, which sounds both terribly appealing and terribly time-consuming. Am I right?

Sofia can be reached on Instagram @HappyVProject or on Facebook @The Happy Vagina Project

    Fat Jan 31, 2020

Season 2, Episode 4: I gotta be honest, I couldn't figure out what to name this episode. I thought about stealing the title of Paige Fieldstead's book, "Confessions From Your Fat Friend," but the truth is, Paige is so much more than anyone's fat friend. She is smart and funny and brave and bold and doing her best to Mom and work and live her dream. Just like the rest of us.

Her book is beautiful. Her book makes you think. I highly recommend the read.

But for now, enjoy the episode.

In this episode the amazingly bad-ass Gila Pfeffer of @the.mom.who.knew.too.much discusses her decision to actively take breast cancer by storm, the battle she has won, and why when it comes to your health, you *must* be your own greatest advocate.

Join me for an honest discussion behind the woman who makes us laugh every day, and yet reminds us every month to take care of our ta-ta's.

What If I Hate My Kid? Jan 13, 2020

Sometimes motherhood isn't all it's cracked up to be. And sometimes the child you give birth to isn't the child you imagined you would have. Dr. Samantha Rodman of @dr.psychmom discusses why this can happen and how you can overcome the negativity and resentment of Momming a child that feels all wrong for you.
