FISA is a sweeping surveillance authority that allows the warrantless surveillance of Americans in the name of national security. It was originally created to stop intelligence agencies from spying on people in the US without oversight. But over time, the guardrails came off. And the man who helped build some of those guardrails at the FBI now says the system has gone badly wrong.
In this video, we trace the full history of FISA, from the abuses that created it, to the safeguards that once held it in check, to how it became the legal foundation for one of the most powerful warrantless surveillance systems in America.

Every administration. The politician you'd never vote for. The official who already thinks people like you are the enemy.
The question was never whether we can trust the people in charge today. It's why we built something this dangerous to hand to anyone at all.

That USB port on the plane or in your car? It's not just a power outlet, it's a computer. And every time you plug in, you're potentially handing it a two-way connection to your phone: power going in, and your data going out.
In this video, I break down why plugging your phone into random USB ports can be risky, how attackers can use these connections to steal data or install malware ("juice jacking"), and how a cheap little gadget called a USB data blocker protects you.

The federal government is spying on you, and they're doing it without a warrant.
Ludlow Institute helped create a bill to fix this. And on April 23, 2026, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) introduced this bill to the House.
We gave a press conference at the Capitol to introduce H.R. 8470 — the Surveillance Accountability Act, a landmark bill designed to restore the Fourth Amendment in the digital age.

Storing sensitive files on a normal USB drive is like writing your diary on a sticky note and leaving it in a taxi. If someone gets the drive, they get the files with no hacking required. But luckily you can use encryption to protect what's on your USB thumbdrive.
