Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Psalm 20:4 which says "“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”
"This verse is powerful and I thought it was fitting. Another Monday and another start of a month and it is a relevant verse to hold onto.

No matter what season you find yourself in, one of the greatest gifts God gives you is the gift of dreams. We are to live for the present but we are also given hope and a future and we have dreams that we want to see come true.

My prayer for us all today is that we look at our hearts, and we dig for what we are desiring. If it’s not the will of God, he won’t give them to you. But if what you desire aligns with His plans for you, my prayer is exactly how this verse reads, may he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

Hold on to that promise. Please, it’s been one of my greatest lesson yet. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of John 21:24-25 which says "24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."
"The stories we know of Jesus are those that have been written on these pages. So many lives have been impacted by them. So many songs written, so many sermons preached, so many lives changed.

But so much more could have happened. So many more miracles, testimonies, and yet we will never know.

It got me thinking, how many miracles has he performed? It has to be in the upwards of trillions. Every day is a blessing and he performs miracles in all of our lives. They don’t have to be written in a book to be real. But they are real. So real. He moved when He wants to. He blesses. He is living water..."

    Don't Cover Up A Miracle Apr 01, 2021
    Show notes

This is Episode 219 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.
    Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo
Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of Matthew 28:11-15 which says "11 While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened. 12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, 13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day."
"What really amazed me was how they paid a lot of money to cover up the greatest miracle that had ever and will ever occur and that story is still being said today.

His resurrection was a miracle and the world will go to great lengths to convince you that it wasn’t. Let me encourage you, keep the faith. His story, your testimony holds so much power.

When people try and cover up your miracles, don’t let them. When you want to cover up your own miracle, don’t give into fear. Share your story louder. Be confident in what He has done for you. Share it with others, continue to spread the light and the love of Jesus. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of Luke 24:13-35
"A few things come to mind when I read this. Sometimes we are walking with Jesus in our journey and we may not even be aware how he interjects and prompts you with questions.

There are also many times where he may wait for the perfect opportunity to show you it was Him there with you the entire time. I know this can be said when walking through hard seasons.

You can’t see it in the moment, but when you get passed it, you look back and you will see how Jesus was there the whole time.

I hope as we go about our days we realize just how important it is to communicate with Jesus daily. I hope we keep our eyes open for when he talks. I hope when we makes himself visible we can see him clearly and our hearts burn.

What a blessing to live a life with Him!"

    Run, Don't Walk Mar 30, 2021

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of Matthew 28:8 which says “So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples”
"This verse really spoke to me personally, like I said yesterday, sometimes old dreams come back to life. Sometimes, new plans come to life. Sometimes, things happen that you had no intention would happen. And it’s all God. Sometimes you have a plan and it seems logical, but then the unexplainable happens.God opens a door that you never thought you’d walk through and yes its both terrifying and wonderful. You can be full of fear and full of joy.

But this verse should gives you direction on what to do next, run and tell his disciples. It doesn’t say run and tell the world. No run and tell his disciples. It’s important to have a group of people who love and believe in Jesus to run to, and go to so that you can share when God moves in your life.

If you don’t I encourage you to find an in-person community, this weekend is a great opportunity to meet some new faces. There is nothing in this world like sharing the love and works of Jesus with other believers. So this is me saying, the next time God opens a door in your life that you thought was unable to open, run, don’t walk."

"Last Friday we read about the death of Jesus and today I wanted to read on the importance of the burial. First of all let’s talk about Joseph. This passage says “He was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly” and that in it’s own will preach to your heart.

He feared the Jewish leaders so He was a follower in secret. I know a lot of people who love God, love Jesus, but in secret because they fear what their Instagram followers would think if they talked more about their testimony. I was like that for a long time, so if that pulled on your heart strings please know you are not alone, but I encourage you to be courageous. You don’t know who’s life you can impact by sharing your story..."

Greater Than Our Expectations Mar 26, 2021
    Show notes

This is Episode 215 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.
    Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo
Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of John 19:37 which says "For these things took place that Scripture might be fulfilled. “Not one of his bones will be broken.” And again another scripture says, “They will look on Him whom they have pierced.”
"There is no doubt they had just killed the son of man, to us, because like I keep repeating, we are on the other side of the resurrection. But clearly the crowd didn’t know what they had just done.

Yet, scripture had forewarned us of his coming. This verse proves that he fulfilled the word. It goes to show that our interpretation of something, isn’t actually what God is trying to tell us.

Think about it. These people were looking for a king to come and save them, yet they got a carpenter, born in a manger.

They wanted something he wasn’t because they expected Him to be something they wanted rather than who He was. I hope this encourages us to be careful of the boxes we put God in. He doesn’t show up the way we expect, but we must not be blind when he does make himself present.

Time and time again the word proves that he will be far greater than we can ever hope or imagine. He has more in store for us. I hope that we trust Him, I hope that we know our expectations for him will never be met, he will always exceed them, but we cannot be disappointed when they don’t meet up to our imperfect and selfish standards. "

    Remember Me Mar 25, 2021

This is Episode 214 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.
    Find us on Instagram: @mymorningdevo
Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we continue our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of Luke 23:39-43.
"What a picture of our lives. Sometimes we can be like the first man, demanding that God save us in a second. “Don’t you see what is happening? Can’t you see that we’ve been through enough. Surely if you are God you would save me right now”

I know because I have been that person. I went through trails and tribulations. I had moments I wish I would forget. I was mad at God, I tested Him.

It wasn’t until I fully grasped who he was that I changed my ways. I suddenly became like the second man. One that understands the fault I have in my actions. One that understands the honor to live life with Christ right next to me, even when I am far from perfect.

With confidence I know that He will remember me, like he remembered this man. I know that even in my low moments, nothing can operate me from the promises of God. I hope that as you go about your day today you look at your narrative. Are you questioning God’s power? Or are you grateful to be in His presence?

When you put on the posture of humility the world changes."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we begin our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of John 18:33-40.
"What I love about the words, not of this world, is that it proves that where we are is not heaven. So when you have a bad day you can remember that it can be worse and it can be better, but it’s not the best, because the best is in heaven.

Not of this world means that when we are tempted, angered, or just plagued by depression, anxiety, strongholds etc. we can remember that there is a better place.

But the best part of all of it, is that we don’t have to wait for eternity to find heavenly places here on earth. We can live a life full of peace, love, joy, and prosperity and it is thanks to the events that followed the passage we read today."

This is Episode 210 of the My Morning Devotional Podcast.

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we begin our 15 devotional series of prayers and read out of Luke 23:1-5 which says "1 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.” 3 So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied. 4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.” 5 But they insisted, “He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
"...I hope that we allow Jesus to stir up curiosity inside us. I hope we are always curious to see how far we can go with Christ as our leader. I hope we always look to Him for guidance, for strength, and for peace. I hope we never lose the excitement to share our testimonies and to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever we go. "
