    ABOUT JOHN WAITE:

    John Waite's voice has been a staple on the radio airwaves for decades now. Whether as a chart topping solo artist with tunes like "Change" and "Missing You", as lead singer of 70's and 80's bands such as The Babys with "Back On My Feet Again" "Isn't It Time" "Every Time I Think Of You" and Bad English "When I See You Smile" "Price of Love" or pairing up with the likes of Alison Krauss or Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty. His latest release is Wooden Heart, an Acoustic Anthology - The Complete Recordings Vol 1, 2 & 3 featuring songs from his catalogue and covers by the likes of Bob Dylan, Donovan and Hank Williams among others. With more live shows and new music in the offing, John Waite continues to forge his own singularly personal path, celebrating the present and engaged by the promise of the future. The story is far from over for the Lancaster, England-born rock star/balladeer/storyteller who was inspired onto his musical path by blues, soul and country along with a deep connection to the Celtic folk music of his homeland.

    ABOUT CHRIS HILLMAN:

    Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Country Rock pioneer, Chris Hillman was a founding member of the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Manassas, the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band, McGuinn-Clark-Hillman and the Desert Rose Band.

    In 2017 he released the acclaimed Bidin’ My Time, his first solo album in 12 years, produced by Tom Petty and executive-produced by Herb Pedersen. In 2018, the 50th Anniversary of The Byrds’ groundbreaking Sweetheart of the Rodeo album, which launched the country rock movement in 1968 and is widely considered to be one of the most influential albums in the genre, was celebrated. Hillman’s memoir, Time Between: My Life as a Byrd, Burrito Brother, and Beyond was released in 2020.

With a legendary career spanning nearly five decades, Kansas has firmly established itself as one of America’s iconic classic rock bands.     ABOUT JERRY SHIRLEY:

    Jerry Shirley is a legendary English Rock Drummer who is best known as a member of the highly influential rock band Humble Pie, appearing on all of their albums. Jerry was recruited by Steve Marriott to join Humble Pie when he was just 17 years old.

    Aside from Humble Pie, Jerry is also known for his work with Fastway, Waysted, Joey Molland from Badfinger, Alexis Korner, Billy Nicholls, John Entwistle (of The Who), Sammy Hagar and more.

    Jerry also recorded with Syd Barrett (Pink Floyd). On the debut LP The Madcap Laughs he shared drum duties and played with David Gilmour and Roger Waters among others. On the album Barrett, he worked with Gilmour again and also Richard Wright, and shared the drum stool with Willie Wilson.

    ABOUT STEVE SYBESMA:

    Steve got his start as a concert promoter in 1972. Based in Indianapolis he promoted shows independently before joining Sunshine Promotions in 1974. Sunshine grew into one of the biggest concert companies in America, eventually producing more than 7,500 concerts and events in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, and Puerto Rico. Steve resigned from SFX / Sunshine Promotions in late 2000. After a 2-year sabbatical he moved to Shanghai in 2003 to promote Western artists in China. There he co-founded China West Entertainment and eventually merged China West with Shanghai based A2Live. During his 11 years in China, Steve produced several hundred concerts, festivals, and other amazing projects. Steve moved back to the US in 2014 and co-founded The Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida. And most recently Steve has created ”Indiana Rock History” to collect and memorialize a vital part of Indiana’s rock history, visit www.IndianaRockHistory.com

    Merlis spent almost 30 Years at Warner Bros. Records handling Communications 1971-2001. After that he started his own firm. Clients he has worked with include John Mellencamp, Etta James, ZZ Top, John Fogerty, Carlene Carter, Alice Cooper, Neil Young, Madonna, Prince & also the recorded legacies of Jimi Hendrix, Roy Orbison & Sam Cooke.     Ep. 17: Don Brewer (Grand Funk Railroad) - Music Buzzz Podcast Jul 02, 2021

    ABOUT DON BREWER:

    In 1969 Don co-founded the power trio Grand Funk Railroad whose career sky-rocketed in 1973 behind the #1 hit, “We’re An American Band”, a song Don not only wrote, but sang while playing his historical drums licks. Also, his list of credits are “Shinin’ On” and “Walk Like A Man”. He is also the lead singer on the hit recording “Some Kind of Wonderful”. Grand Funk went on to record 12 Gold and 10 Platinum albums.

    In 1983 and 1987, Don was recruited to play on tour with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. The 1987 tour proved to be the largest grossing tour of that decade. Don also toured extensively with Seger in 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2012.

    The highlights of this outstanding musician’s career cover the gamut, including bongo features on Frank Zappa’s song “Let Me Take You To The Beach”, numerous television appearances with both Seger and Grand Funk, including David Letterman, Jay Leno, and Good Morning America and much more.

    ABOUT DONNA JEAN GODCHAUX-MACKAY:Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay was co-vocalist of the Grateful Dead in the 1970s creating a lasting impact on legendary songs such as “The Music Never Stopped,” “Cassidy,” “Mississippi Half-Step,” and “Playing in the Band” among others. But prior to her years in the Grateful Dead she was a 1960's session musician at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama. And most recently Donna Jean experiencing a full circle shift back to recording at Muscle Shoals for the reworking and release of the Donna Jean and the Tricksters classic “Shelter”, a song originally written many years ago but being revived for 2021.

    ABOUT DOUG GILLARD:

    Doug Gillard is an indie rock guitarist and songwriter who originally hails from northern Ohio and is now based in New York City. He has been a member of major indie pop and punk bands, most notably Guided by Voices (1997-2004 and 2016 to present) helping lead the powerhouse indie rock gods fronted by the incomparable Bob Pollard to new heights, plus also as a member of Nada Surf, and in the past other great bands including Bambi Kino, Death of Samantha, and Cobra Verde and has also recorded with the likes of Neko Case, The Hold Steady, The Easthills and others. Gillard also has a great catalogue of solo music all of which can be found at douggillard.bandcamp.com.
