On August 3rd, 2020, 27-year-old Michael Bryson, stopped at his parent’s house in Harrisburg, Oregon. He informed them he would be going up to a week long party/camping trip with some friends at Hobo Campground near Dorena, Oregon. They didn’t realize that they would be speaking to their son for the last time.
Reports state that Michael was at the renagade on Monday and Tuesday. If you’re like me and didn’t know what a renegade is, it’s basically a rave with no insurance and is held off the beaten path so drugs can be freely passed around with no police involvement. By very early Wednesday morning, Michael Bryson had disappeared.
Detective Richard Smith of The Lane County Sheriff’s Office states that at around 4 am that Wednesday, Michael wandered away from his group of friends in an unknown direction. Left behind was his camping gear, his phone powered off, and he has not accessed his bank account since.
I got to talk to Michael’s parents, Parrish and Tina Bryson by phone this week. They were incredibly gracious and while talking to them, you can feel the emotions they’re going through, but also their resilence. Give that they’re in Oregon, our interview was conducted by phone, so the audio can get a little fuzzy in spots, but I tried cleaning it up the best I could. Now, here’s the interview.
