Episode 005: Three Words That Will Change Your Business
My son was locked in the car and I didn’t know what to do…
It’s Thursday! And that means a new episode of The Speakers, Authors and Coaches Podcast.
3 weeks ago I had an experience that changed my perspective on what the word commitment truly meant.
I was getting ready for a speaking engagement and I got a text from my wife saying that our 18 month old son was locked in the car and it was 95 degrees out!
AHHHH!
I panicked…
I didn’t know what to do since I was 1,000 miles away from home.
I stepped out of the room, knowing that I was on stage in 30 minutes and called my wife.
In that conversation I had a realization and experience that taught me what commitment truly meant.
our son was locked in the car, it was getting hotter inside and I knew it would take too long for AAA to get there. So I called my brother and asked him to head over and see if he could get the car door open.
I also told him that if he couldn’t get it open that he should break the window to get him out.
Did I want him to break the window? Of course not!
Why did I tell him to do that?
Because I was willing to do whatever it took to keep my son safe!
I had made a commitment as a father to keep him safe no matter what!
In that experience I learned that that if we have the same attitude towards every commitment we make we would have a lot more success in our businesses and in our lives.
In this week’s episode of the Speakers, Authors and Coaches Podcast I share the rest of the story and what I learned from the experience.
Thank you for listening.
