Allison Munn Opens Up About The Pressures and Joys Of Acting Oct 31, 2016
    Show notes

Allison Munn (What I like about you, Nicky Ricky, Dicky and Dawn, One Tree Hill) is my guest this week! She gives us an inside look at what life is like as a working actress and mom of 2. There is a ton of pressure when you're a lead on a TV show, especially for women. Allison is really open about the pressure she feels AND puts on herself to look a certain way. She also feels pressure to nail every joke, which when you're in comedy, is way harder than it looks. We also talk about child care options for actresses on TV. Does everyone have a nanny? Do you judge people who have nanny's? Well stop it. It's a necessity if you're working full time in Hollywood. Don't forget to subscribe to my show on iTunes! Ashley Tisdale, Harland Williams and Eric Rogers sit down to talk with me about their new Netflix animated series "Skylanders Academy". This is a fun BONUS episode of MIH! Ashley talks about her love of voicing characters, and reveals her plans for kids, and when she'll release more music. Harland tells me about his new show for Disney called Puppy Dog Pals. And showrunner Eric Rogers tells me how he merged the worlds of the X-Men School for the Gifted with Harry Potter, and humor from Futurama to create the Skylanders Academy.

Heather hits the red carpet to cover the World Choreography Awards! This is a bonus episode featuring interviews with Allison Holker, Stephen "Twitch" Boss, and world renowned choreographer Anita Mann. This was such a special moment because Anita tells a wonderful story about how she got her start in dance doing background work on an Elvis Presley film. I honestly just want to sit and listen to her tell stories about Elvis all day! Hope you enjoy this bonus episode! Blair Breard On The Success Of Louie, Better Things, & Baskets Oct 24, 2016
    Show notes

Louis CK's producing partner Blair Breard talks with me about working on some of today's most prolific comedies. Some her shows are Better Things, One Mississippi (Amazon) , Baskets, and Louie on FX. I'm so in love with Better Thing starring Pamela Adlon on FX. It beautifully captures what it's like to be a mom and actress in LA (hey that's me!) Blair and Louis CK have been working together since they met working on Pootie Tang and are now changing the face of comedy! We talk about the subtle changes in the number of women producing films and tv shows today, and what it's like for a female producer to start a family versus men. If you're a writer, producer or content creator or even an actress, you will walk away from this episode feeling inspired! Stefanie Fair Opens Up About Reality TV, Wild Orchid, and Hot Moms Oct 17, 2016
    Show notes

Stefanie Fair is a former child star (Golden Girls, Blossom) and 1/3 of the 90's pop band Wild Orchid (Renee Sandstrom & Fergie!). She stops by to tell us why she chose to pursue a family after years of touring in her music group. She was in the trenches with groups like Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, and 98 Degrees but Wild Orchid never rose to the same level of success. No idea why because they sounded amazing! But the music biz is ridiculous sometimes. Where she did find success was in being a mom to her four kids. She reflects on her time in that 90's pop world, the current state of music, and what she sees for her music future. Stefanie also talks about some of the blowback she got after appearing on Bravo's There Goes The Motherhood and that sometimes reality TV isn't as real as you think. Ep. 67 Nick Jr.’s Shimmer and Shine Creator Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz Oct 10, 2016
    Show notes

One of Channing's favorite shows these days is Shimmer and Shine on Nick Jr. In fact she loves it so much, I think she's convinced she's a genie. So as you can imagine when I found out the creator of the show was basically a magical genie mom disguised as a human, I had to have her on the show. Farnaz Esnaashari-Charmatz is the glittery guru behind Shimmer and Shine. The show is about twin genies-in-training from Zahramay Falls who grant wishes for their best friend, Leah. The girls work together to solve the problems that arise when wishes don't go as smoothly as they plan. The music is also poppy and addicting and there have been many a dance party in my living room while it's on.

Mayim Bialik On Supporting Fisher-Prices’ New STEM Toys Oct 03, 2016
    Show notes

Actress and mom Mayim Bialik (The Big Bang Theory, Blossom, Beaches) is my guest this week! She tells me what it's like balancing life as a mom of 2 and starring on a huge CBS show. Mayim is also very much like her character on Big Bang. She's a neuroscientist and big supporter of STEM education. We sat down at an event with Fisher-Price as they launched their new line of STEM toys. The Code-a-pillar , the Smart Scan Color Chameleon Color Bingo, and the Smart Scan Word Dash Hide and Seek are all toys from Fisher-Price that help develop STEM skills. As technology advances, so must our toys! These toys teach preschoolers communication, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, as well as reading, writing and arithmetic. Mayim also talks to me about her website GrokNation.com and why it's not your typical mommy blog. Erin Ziering Shares Her Midwest Values With A Hollywood Twist Sep 26, 2016
    Show notes

My friend Erin Ziering met her prince charming a few years ago in Hollywood (of course) and says it changed her life forever. The mom of 2 is married to actor Ian Ziering (Sharknado, Beverly Hills 90210) and walked away from life as a traveling nurse, to become a Hollywood mom. But don't mistake her for someone who's riding on her husbands fame. She is creating her own path in this industry with her blog AtHomeWithTheZierings.com, working with brands, and discovering her parenting style through trial and error. She blogs very openly about their lives, working together as parents, and what's it's raising girls in LA. It's a heartfelt blog from a real Hollywood mom. 5th Annual Red CARpet Safety Event (Interview With Brooke Burke-Charvet!) Sep 25, 2016
    Show notes

Mom, host, and philanthropist Brooke Burke-Charset talks to me about her journey through motherhood in the entertainment industry. We were at the Red CARpet Safety event at Sony Pictures helping to raise awareness about car seat safety. Brooke is a mom of four kids and was the host of Wild On on the E! Network when she found out she was pregnant with her first child. She tells me how much she learned from her first to her fourth. And that sometimes it truly is a challenge to balance everything. Sometimes she has to miss her kids events for work, something all working moms can relate to. But just being open and having a conversation with them so they know why you have to miss out sometimes, it's the best way to handle it. Brooke is also the CEO of ModernMom.com and a big believer in giving back to the community. Olympian Kerri Walsh Jennings on Motherhood & The Honest Company Sep 23, 2016
    Show notes

We all saw Olympian Kerri Walsh Jennings crush it on the beach volleyball court this summer at the Rio Games. She and her partner April Ross took home the bronze medal, adding to her collection which includes 3 gold medals. But when I interviewed her recently at an The Honest Company fall party, she told me the one thing she’s most proud of is her family. In addition to being a world-class athlete, Kerri is a mom of three. She tells me her heart is in being a mommy to her kids. She says when she won the bronze medal in Rio, her kids said, “Mommy we didn’t win gold!” And rather than defending her bronze medal, she used that opportunity to teach them about what it means to win at every level. Even though gold was her goal, she was still proud of the work she and her partner did to win bronze. She says her family is a big part of her life and has been supportive of her career in every way. They talk about the importance of healthy competition in her house which is a lesson a lot of us could use. And I had to ask her what her plans are for the future, now that her volleyball partner is taking a break to start a family. She says she’s weighing her options, and could soon start searching for a new partner. And I for one cannot wait to see her back in action. Now, Kerri is adding one more title to her name. She’s the first Honest Company Ambassador. The Honest Company was founded by actress Jessica Alba to offer eco-friend, beautiful and affordable baby products. The brand has now expanded into household items, personal care and feminine care products just to name a few.
