    296: Australia's First Serial Killer - February 21 2020 - Today in True Crime History Feb 21, 2020

    On February 21st 1841 a man was arrested for a single murder. He was convicted, rather quickly, and was sentenced to death for his crimes. Then, as the trial ended, more information about the mysterious man came to light. Because this man, a man named John Lynch, was a serial killer who had been roaming the Berrima area of Australia for years committing brutal murders. And, though the word didn’t exist just yet, Lynch would later be known as Australia’s worst serial killer. John Lynch Arrested (1841)

The positive is that you can ride with the knowledge that these men and women driving you to your destination, have passed a background check. On February 20th 2016 an Uber driver went on a shooting rampage, all while taking fares between sprees. A man who, somehow, passed one of those background checks. Kalamazoo Shooting (2016)

    As a man sat in prison for manslaughter, a charge that would have had him free in 12 years, he began writing a memoir of sorts. In this memoir he claimed he killed 25 people, liked it, and felt sexual gratification while doing it. This little memoir, and the appearance of a survivor, had German police completely rethinking the crimes of Rudolf Pleil who, after it was all said and done, took his life on February 18th 1958.
