11. Khaleeqa Rouse is a leader with one of the biggest hearts for people I have ever seen. She’s a woman of God, an ironman triathlete, a health & wellness lover, a creator, a foodie, an inspiration, a sister, a friend, an educator, and a black woman.
Together, we’re having a raw conversation about racism in America. If you’re not heartbroken over what’s happening in our country, you’re not paying close enough attention. This conversation is important, racism and injustice are hurting our country and in order to change, we must learn to heal and reconcile.
I believe the first step to making progress and create lasting change is to listen. I actively listened to Khaleeqa share her story and I learned more about her experience as a black woman in America. This conversation helped me reflect on how I can be a better friend and ally in the fight for equality. I hope it can inspire you to do the same.
I encourage you to lean into this conversation.
While our identities are black and white, we dive into the more complicated and gray area of reconciliation with the hope that as we press on together- justice, equality, and love will be the end result.
Please share this episode with your friends and family! Continue to have a meaningful and loving dialogue within your own social circles. Together we can make a change.
