Bigfoot in British Columbia with Thomas Sewid Part 2 May 26, 2017

Join Monster X Radio hosts Gunnar Monson and Shane Corson as they talk with Bigfoot with Thomas Sewid. Thomas Sewid is a member of the Kwakwaka’wakw (Kwakiutl) Tribe from northeastern Vancouver Island British Columbia. He is also half Cree Native from central Canada. A commercial fisherman all his life, he has journeyed the entire coast comparing information about Sasquatch with others who believe. 28 years ago, he was sent out into his traditional territories located between Vancouver Island and the mainland known as The Broughton Archipelago to be a watchman of his Peoples’ abandoned Indian Village. This began his life to live in the bush year round, being a grizzly bear hunting guide, fishing guide and Eco-tourism operator. He would also volunteer to be watchman for logging camps during the winter shutdown. He would have encounters with the creatures and it stirred up interest to learn more about this creature. He lives part-time in Kent Washington with his partner Peggy and they conduct Sasquatch/Bigfoot tours and expeditions with Ha Moo Moo Adventures. She does the Tzoonakwa and Bokwus dance for their operations. Having studied under Dr. John Bindernagel and learning about researching the creatures, he’s incorporated his ancestral native teachings and ways to share a greater understanding about the migratory patterns of the Pacific Northwest Sasquatch/Bigfoot. Thomas operates the Facebook group Sasquatch Island to share the native perspectives to the creatures. He’s also in production of a television series call Aboriginal Sasquatch Stories. Dr. Disotell served as the Science Expert on Spike TV's $10,000,000 Bigfoot Bounty Dr. Todd Disotell is an Anthropology professor at New York University and he studies primate and human evolution. He is also a Molecular Primatologist who uses DNA to study the evolution of Homo sapiens and other primates. For over 20 years he has specialized in generating and testing hypotheses about primate phylogeny. While the majority of his research spans all of the groups of Old World monkeys, he has also worked on apes, New World monkeys, and stepsirrhines. His research group has generated many of the complete mitochondrial genomes that figure prominently in debates about phylogeny and taxonomy. Disotell's research interests range from Molecular Evolution, Mammalian Evolution, Molecular Systematics, Phylogentic Analysis, Population Genetics, Phylogeography, Bioinformatics, Human Evolution, Human Variation and the history of Anthropology. He also specializes in Cryptozoological primates such as Bigfoot. He has appeared on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, National Geographic Channel's Naked Science and Is It Real?, and History Channel's Monster Quest.

David Floyd is an Associate Professor of English at Charleston Southern University, where he teaches British fiction. He earned his PhD from the University of Stirling, Scotland, and is the author of Street Urchins, Sociopaths, and Degenerates: Orphans of Late-Victorian and Edwardian Fiction. David has published work on medieval, Gothic, and Victorian literature and presented at conferences in England, Scotland, and the US. He is currently pursuing a second PhD, in psychology, through the University of Helsinki. David has spoken at the Ohio Bigfoot Conference, last year’s Virginia Bigfoot Conference, and will speak at 2017’s International Bigfoot Conference. He has also appeared several times on the SasWhat podcast. His primary research deals with the consistent presence of bigfoot-type creatures in folklore and legend throughout human history, and the theory that, far from being merely some psychological archetype or cultural emblem, that there is a substantive, biological reality behind the accounts of this mysterious creature.
