    Robin has been married to her husband, John, since 1986. When their oldest started school, she heard about Moms in Prayer on the radio and joined a group for the local school. That was the beginning of an amazing journey which has led from Minnesota to Idaho and from a group member into leadership.

    Through Moms in Prayer, she has learned that one hour a week can put the rest of the week’s activities into perspective. Over and over, God has multiplied her time when she put Him first. She would love for each woman to have that same experience. Robin has found that when she gets busy and becomes distracted, it is easy to lose perspective and move ahead in her own strength. But when she sets aside weekly time to pray with others in a Moms in Prayer group, her focus on who God is and what God has done gives her all she needs to handle every situation she faces. 2 Samuel 22:33 reminds us that “It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”

    SCRIPTURES

    The counsel of the Lord stands forever,

    the plans of his heart to all generations. Psalm 33:11 ESV

    Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21 ESV

    “Gideon’s eyes were taken off his circumstance, off his enemy, and put on God. Then, he was able to move forward with hope.” And we can do the same! Our Pacific Division Coordinator, Jennifer Hanson, brings peace to our worried, weary and overwhelmed souls by reminding us that God is the One Who fights our battles and brings the victory.     Moms in Prayer has changed Jennifer’s life and impacted the lives of her children in amazing ways. She grew up with a praying grandma and recognized the blessing of that. She wanted something similar for her kids. In 2015, a precious tourist visiting Valdez left a Moms in Prayer Booklet with her. That started an incredible adventure. Jennifer read the Booklet and started a group that fall.

    Through the four steps of prayer, Moms in Prayer has taught her to focus on God and His character instead of whatever problem is presenting itself. She wants every mom to know the peace of entrusting their kids to God through prayer. Sometimes she doesn’t know what to pray. Praying scripture has released her from that. May this passage encourage you from Isaiah 55:10-11, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

    Jennifer lives in Valdez, Alaska with her husband and two daughters.

    SCRIPTURES

    When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, “Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.” And his comrade answered, “This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp.” As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.” Judge 7:13-15 ESV

    The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, ‘Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.’” Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.

    And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there, and anyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall go with you,’ shall go with you, and anyone of whom I say to you, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ shall not go.” So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “Every one who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself. Likewise, every one who kneels down to drink.” And the number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was 300 men, but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water. And the Lord said to Gideon, “With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home.” Judges 7:2-7 ESV

    Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7 ESV

    Do you not know?

    Have you not heard?

    The Lord is the everlasting God,

    the Creator of the ends of the earth.

    He will not grow tired or weary,

    and his understanding no one can fathom.

    He gives strength to the weary

    and increases the power of the weak.

    Even youths grow tired and weary,

    and young men stumble and fall;

    but those who hope in the Lord

    will renew their strength.

    They will soar on wings like eagles;

    they will run and not grow weary,

    they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV

    I remember my affliction and my wandering,

    the bitterness and the gall.

    I well remember them,

    and my soul is downcast within me.

    Yet this I call to mind

    and therefore I have hope:

    Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,

    for his compassions never fail.

    They are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.

    I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;

    therefore I will wait for him.”

    The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,

    to the one who seeks him;

    it is good to wait quietly

    For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4 NIV

    May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NIV

    Episode 281 - God is Your Shepherd, You Lack Nothing with Heidi Fromke Oct 30, 2023

    “Our Good Shepherd knows what we need more than we do and provides what we need at just the right time.” Today Aubrie sits down with our Appalachian Division Coordinator, Heidi Fromke, to look at another attribute of God and dig into Psalm 23 for all the rich truth it holds.     Learning to hold her kids loosely and trust God with them is a daily challenge which Heidi found to be especially true when her boys were just beginning school. It was during this time of trying to “let go” a bit that she found Moms in Prayer after hearing Moms in Prayer Founder, Fern Nichols, on the radio.

    The Lord encouraged her to start a Moms in Prayer group at her sons’ school in 2003. She prayed with this group of moms for 17 years. They joined her in covering her boys, their kids and their school community. They lifted their requests to God and saw Him do immeasurably more than they could ask or imagine as He walked with them through a son’s illness, Young Life established at the school, and students’ hearts turned to Christ. Heidi has come to know the Lord in an amazingly intimate way as He has shown her His love for her boys and that He truly can be trusted above all else.

    She has been married to Mark, who has filled her days with laughter since 1990. They have three boys in their twenties and two amazing daughters-in-law! After growing up in Minnesota and spending a few years in St. Louis, they have fallen in love with North Carolina. Heidi is looking forward to watching God work as He draws other moms to experience His power, grace and loving acceptance through prayer!

    SCRIPTURES

    if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 ESV

    The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:10-11 ESV

    I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19

    He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32 ESV

    Lisa was first invited to a Moms in Prayer group in the 1990s and grew in her prayer life as they faithfully followed the Four Steps of Prayer. The group became her favorite hour every week as she sometimes arrived in a panic, yet always left in peace. God’s promises are true and when we bathe our children in His Word, our hearts are refocused on the God Who is bigger than our problems! In 2016, she began serving as the Moms in Prayer Colorado State Coordinator. She and her husband have three kids and eight grandchildren with a ninth on the way!

    She says, “The Lord answered prayers for my children in such unique and reassuring ways. When my children became adults, I looked back at my prayer sheets and realized that He worked many of the specific attributes I prayed for each child into the fabric of their individual characters and personalities. I remain awestruck and humbled by the power and privilege of praying God’s word into their lives. Now it’s my privilege and honor to pray for my new little loves—my grandchildren!”

    Episode 279 - When God Builds, It’s a Masterpiece with Rachel Raih Oct 16, 2023

    “I can’t do this, but it is the assurance that God is the Builder. Because if I could do anything in my strength, it’s worthless. So, it’s good that I can’t do it, but God can.” Our wonderful Moms in Prayer Heartland Division Coordinator, Rachel Raih, joins us on the podcast today. She reminds us of the assurance, hope and peace that is found in trusting God to be our Master Builder.     Rachel clearly remembers when she heard about Moms in Prayer International on a Focus on the Family radio broadcast featuring our Founder, Fern Nichols. Her heart was stirred and now she has been praying in a Moms in Prayer group for 32 years! After serving for 10 years as our Iowa State Coordinator, she now serves as our Heartland Division Coordinator, overseeing seven states. She plans to continue to pray in a group as long as the Lord gives her the physical and mental ability.

    Her oldest son battled severe asthma which resulted in a number of emergency room visits and hospitalizations throughout his childhood on up to college. She would battle anxiety and fear whenever he developed a runny nose or cough and a feeling of dread would come over her. Many weeks he would be the one of the four children that were covered in prayer in her Moms in Prayer hour. This brought great peace, hope and strength. God answered so many prayers on his behalf and today he is healthy and his asthma is well controlled.

    Rachel lives with her husband, Darrel, of 44 years in Sioux Center, Iowa. They have four adult children and the wonderful blessing of being grandpa and grandma to seven grandchildren with number eight due to arrive soon!

    SCRIPTURES

    For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4 NIV

    So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:27-28 NKJV

And I knew that I would need to depend on my faith and everything I had learned about the character of God to carry on.” Today we continue our new podcast series called “How Great is Our God”, focusing on the different attributes of our amazing God. Debbie Strobel, our Moms in Prayer Arkansas State Coordinator, joins us today. She shares how even in one of the hardest circumstances of her life, God showed Himself as her Comforter and Provider. God wants to be that for you too!

    In 2004, a friend from church invited Debbie to a new prayer group she was starting called Moms in Prayer. Her sons were both moving from private to public school that year. She knew they needed much prayer for the transition. God worked miracles that first year and has continued to do so throughout her Moms in Prayer journey. Through Moms in Prayer, she has learned the power of praying in unity with other moms. The women in her group are her closest friends, and ones she knows she can trust with anything. She also learned the power of praying Scripture.

    Debbie married her college sweetheart, Michael, in 1977. They were married for 44 years until he unexpectedly went to be with the Lord after suffering a heart attack. They raised two wonderful sons who are married to believing women. Preston is an officer in the Coast Guard, and he and his wife made Debbie a first-time grandma in March of 2023 with the birth of Ronan Michael! Grant and his wife live in northwest Arkansas. Besides MIP, her hobbies include pastel painting and doing activities with her two rescue dogs.

    SCRIPTURES

    Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Job 13:15a NKJV

    Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

    Barbara Kemp has been married to Lloyd for 44 years. She’s blessed to be called Mom by two sons and is affectionately “Noni” to her grandchildren. After 29 years, Barbara is still praying for her grown children and grandchildren. She’s had the privilege of serving as Roster Manager, Area Coordinator, Regional Coordinator, State Coordinator, Division Coordinator, and International Leadership Developer for Moms in Prayer. In 2008, she took a mission trip to Kenya. Upon her return to Kentucky, Barbara’s heart was never the same. She sensed God calling her to serve the women of Africa through Moms in Prayer International. For 13 years, Barbara has seen God do more than she could ask or imagine in Africa and beyond.

    Max Lucado is a pastor, speaker, and best-selling author who, in his own words, “writes books for people who don’t read books.” He serves the people of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, and his message is for the hurting, the guilty, the lonely, and the discouraged: God loves you; let Him.

    As a writer, Max is known for combining poetic storytelling and homespun humor with the heart of a pastor. Max’s books have sold more than 145 million copies in over 50 languages worldwide. He published On the Anvil, his first trade book, in 1985. His 44th trade book, Help Is Here, was released in 2022. Max’s books regularly appear on bestseller lists, including The New York Times. His writing has also been featured in Bible studies, Bible commentaries, songs, greeting cards, and even plush toys. He is the recipient of the 2021 ECPA Pinnacle Award for his outstanding contribution to the publishing industry.

    Max and Denalyn now live in San Antonio, Texas. They have three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and two grandchildren.

    Sally Burke’s introduction to the ministry in 1990 was life changing. Compelled by joy and the hope God gave as she prayed with others for her children and their schools, Sally began to reach out and share with other moms—first as a Moms in Prayer group leader, then area coordinator for her hometown, and later as regional coordinator. In 2008, Sally became the Director of Field Ministry at Moms in Prayer headquarters, overseeing ministry expansion worldwide. Today, in her role as President of Moms in Prayer International, her vision remains unchanged, that more children and schools and moms might experience God’s life-changing answers to prayer. Sally is also an international speaker, teacher and author of Raise Them Up, Start with Praise, Unshaken and the Unshaken Study Guide.

    As a child growing up in Florida, Sally was fascinated with the space program and began her career as a space shuttle engineer with a Master of Science in Management. After her marriage and the birth of two children, Sally and her husband came to faith in Christ, and Moms in Prayer soon became a top priority. She and husband, Ed, now have four grown children, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. In her leisure time, you’ll find Sally on a walk or run, curled up with a good book or enjoying the company of friends.

    A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in Christian Leadership, Jonathan Evans is a mentor, author, speaker and former NFL fullback who serves as the chaplain of the Dallas Cowboys and co-chaplain of the Dallas Mavericks. As part of his commitment to developing the next generation of devoted Christian leaders, he travels the country speaking at churches, conferences, men’s events, banquets and student-athlete events.

    Jonathan also serves with his pastor, friend and father, Dr. Tony Evans, both in the local church and the national ministry. Together, the two of them have written Get in the Game, and in 2021 he released his first stand-alone book, The Time Is Now. Jonathan’s newest book is Fighting Your Battles: Every Christian’s Playbook for Victory over Life’s Challenges. He and his wife, Kanika, are the proud parents of five children. The family resides in Dallas, Texas.
