The Millionaire's Wife: The Murder of Steven Beard Dec 20, 2022

Show notes

When self-made Texas media millionaire Steven Beard married a glamorous younger woman named Celeste Beard, he believed he had found his perfect partner. But only five years into their marriage, Steven was startled awake in his Austin mansion by a devastating shotgun blast to his stomach. Miraculously, he survived the initial attack and called emergency services himself, only to pass away months later from complications related to the shooting.

As police investigated the crime, they uncovered a dark web of manipulation, secret affairs, and a psychological plot. The trail led straight to Tracey Tarlton, a woman Celeste had met during a stay at a psychiatric facility. Tracey claimed she was deeply in love with Celeste and had been manipulated into pulling the trigger. With Steven's twin daughters, Jennifer Beard and Kristina Beard, ultimately turning against their mother, the trial of Celeste became one of the most sensational cases in Texas history.

In this episode, we explore the chilling details of Steven's murder, the shocking courtroom betrayal, and the unhinged behavior of a woman who would stop at nothing to secure a multi-million dollar fortune.
