    218. The Beginning of Wisdom (Proverbs) Jul 18, 2025

True wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord—a reverent awe that humbles us before God's holiness and authority. Proverbs 9:10 teaches that wisdom is not found in intellect alone but in rightly responding to who God is. This fear of the Lord is not terror, but worshipful reverence. The second half of the verse reminds us that insight flows from knowing the Holy One. Wisdom grows as we grow in our relationship with God. When we see Him clearly, we learn to live rightly. Worship and wisdom are inseparable—those who honor God walk in His ways.

    217. Wisdom Cries Out (Proverbs) Jul 17, 2025

In Proverbs 8:1–11, wisdom is personified as a woman calling out in public places—at the crossroads, city gates, and busy streets—inviting all people to listen. Her message is not hidden or exclusive; it's clear, righteous, and true. She offers something more valuable than silver or gold: God's instruction and discernment. This passage reminds us that wisdom is accessible to all who will listen, and it ultimately points us to Christ, in whom all true wisdom is found.

In this episode of Moments of Worship, Pastor Keith McMinn explores Proverbs 6:16–19, where Scripture lists seven things the Lord hates — from prideful eyes and lying tongues to those who sow discord among brothers. God's hatred of evil is not arbitrary or emotional, but rooted in His holy character. These verses expose the inward and outward nature of sin and reveal how deeply God cares about truth, justice, and unity.

    Proverbs 6:16-19

    215. Consider the Ant (Proverbs) Jul 15, 2025

In this episode of Moments of Worship, Pastor Keith McMinn reflects on God’s call to learn from one of the smallest creatures in creation—the ant. Proverbs 6 teaches us that the ant, though without a leader or overseer, works diligently and wisely, preparing in season without delay.

Drawing from the insights of Reformers John Calvin and Martin Luther, Pastor Keith explores how this simple illustration reveals deeper spiritual truths. Calvin reminds us that even the smallest parts of creation can humble our pride and expose our laziness. Luther teaches that every vocation—when done faithfully—is an act of worship unto God.

Sloth is not just a failure of effort, but a failure to trust God’s design for work and responsibility. We are called to labor not anxiously or for the approval of man, but “as unto the Lord” (Colossians 3:23). This episode is a call to spiritual alertness, personal responsibility, and joyful, grace-empowered diligence in the work God has given us.

    Proverbs 6:6-11

In this episode of Moments of Worship, Pastor Keith McMinn reflects on the sobering truth that all our ways are before the eyes of the Lord. Nothing in our hearts or habits is hidden from Him. With Scripture cross-references and insight from voices like Spurgeon, this devotional calls us to walk in holiness—not out of fear of exposure, but out of reverence and love for the God who sees and cares.
