Are We Teaching Kids to Be Non-Creative? Feb 09, 2023
    Show notes

When NASA looked to measure the creative potential of its engineers, it developed a test to identify creativity and divergent thinking. The results showed that only 2% of those who took the test passed at the creative genius level.

This same test was given to a group of 4 and 5-year-olds, and the results were shocking. An astounding 98% of these children were rated creative geniuses.

What do young children have that NASA engineers don’t? And what can we learn from existing in a childlike state of play? In this episode, Albert and Steph discuss this study, these questions, and their takes on the education system.

So… Why a Balloon? Our Take on the Chinese Spy Balloon Feb 08, 2023
    Show notes

On January 28, 2023 a high-altitude balloon operated by China entered US airspace in Alaska. Over the next several days, it floated high across the country until it was eventually shot down and recovered by the US military on February 4.

There’s been a lot of controversy around this balloon. Who should have done what? And when? On Mission Daily, we aren’t concerned with political discourse. Instead, we wanted to know, why use a balloon in the first place?

What AI and ChatGPT Really Mean for Jobseekers Feb 03, 2023
    Show notes

Stephanie and Albert dive deep into the tech that rocked the boat in the past year. Steph tells us why the metaverse was overhyped (at least for retail businesses), but why she is still betting on AI. Albert believes knowing how to use AI will become “table stakes” for employment in the future.

Bottom Line: If you haven’t at least started experimenting with ChatGPT yet, you are going to get left behind.

You Don’t Have to Bet Big to Have Big Impact Feb 01, 2023
    Show notes

Breaking into new markets requires experimentation. But the experiments you run don’t have to break the business.

Albert opts for a gentler approach. Today, he shares his two rules for running effective business experiments:

    1. Don’t pull me down
    2. The impact has to be BIG

Plus, Steph tells us why a bias for action can be as simple as being willing to ask for help right away.
