The league continues to move the goal post no matter how much the players are willing to work with them. The players want a 114-game season, the league counters with 48. The players are willing to take deferred money, the league decreases the amount they can make- and round and round we go!! Sports seem pretty inconsequential at the moment with everything else going on in the world, but an escape from reality isn't in the cards now that we've taken the red pill. The guys get into a cavalcade of topics this week including Citi Field's debt downgrade, a minor leaguer going scorched earth on the franchise and whether or not the Mets should just slap a C on Alonso's chest already. Things aren't looking too good anywhere you look right now, but we gotta believe things will get better and that we're moving in the right direction.

The guys break down Scherzer's response to the owners, what missing a season would mean in terms of fan fall out and we discuss the positives for the Mets organization if games aren't played. Also, can you really be considered the king of New York if your girlfriend drags you into a DWI dispute? We talk 2007 fan fiction and our "butterfly effect" personalities and continue on with the Western division of the bracket. There might not be baseball, but we gotta believe that deGrom would have 3-peated the Cy Young, SO STOP ASKING "WHO YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE PITCH." The answer is always deGoat.

WGB #47: Millionaires vs. Billionaires May 15, 2020

Blake Snell came out throwing heat this week against the league and not only does he not want to risk his health to play half a season, but he damn sure isn't going to do it for anything less than half his paycheck. KFC and Clem breakdown his rationale, why the millionaires should get the benefit over the billionaires and the dangers of ranting on a live-stream from the comfort of your home. Also, the $200 million man, Mark Teixeira, weighed in from his Ivory tower about why the players should play for free and it's as tone-deaf as you would imagine. The Mets might lose a year of players in their primes, but at least we haven't suffered any soul crushing defeats...yet. MLB is certainly in a pickle compared to every other league and the doomsday clock is ticking away, but we gotta believe we'll come out on the other side- drinking beers, eating hot dogs and celebrating America in July!!

The guys break down the Big Sexy Blast on its 4-year anniversary and recap just what Bartolo meant to the Flushing faithful. We inch closer to finishing off the southern division bracket by imagining what Doc's crack house was like and how far-gone he must have been to miss the parade and debate if Stevie Cohen's non-sale should even be on this bracket if he's still in the hunt. It could be a Cinderella run for Cohen by the time everything is said and done, but we gotta believe this ends in misery one way or another!!

KFC and Clem break down the re-envisioned East, talk about having to play the Yankees on a regular basis and decide which players will become the newest Met killers. We also get back into the Mets Misery Bracket, moving to the Southern division. Only the Mets could take something as simple as March Madness and stretch it out all the way out to July, but when you have a lifetime of misery, one month simply will not do. We gotta believe we'll have this thing wrapped up by the time baseball is back, but if being a Mets fan has taught us anything, it's not to get our hopes up!!
