What Your Woman Needs w/ Dr. Willard Harley Jr. EP 128 Mar 22, 2018
    Show notes

Young men are clueless and what a woman really needs and are shell-shocked when they discover that everything they thought about women changed the day AFTER they got married. What's worse is when a man discover this 25 years later when his wife leaves him after the children leave the home. Don't be that man. Learn the top needs of your wife so that your marriage will be its best version. Join us with author Bill Harley and his classic book His Needs Her Needs with over 4 million copies sold!

Willard F. Harley, Jr., Ph.D. is best known as author of the internationally best selling book, His Needs, Her Needs: Building An Affair-proof Marriage. Over four million copies have been purchased, and it is available in twenty-two foreign translations.

Dr. Harley earned a Ph.D. degree in psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1967 and has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Minnesota since 1975. For the first ten years after earning his degree, he taught psychology at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. During those years, he was also a frustrated part-time marriage counselor with little success in helping couples.

In 1973 he discovered that he was not alone in his failure to save marriages -- almost everyone in the marital therapy profession were also failing. So he spent the next two years designing an entirely new approach (see How Dr. Harley Learned to Save Marriages). When his success rate skyrocketed in 1977, he resigned from his teaching position to counsel full-time. Over the next ten years his solo practice developed into the largest network of mental health clinics in Minnesota (thirty-two locations) with over one hundred psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and chemical dependency counselors working with him to provide a full range of mental health services. He became the exclusive provider of mental health and chemical dependency services in ten counties, and had offices in other counties as well.

One of his responsibilities was to write support materials for the clinical program he directed. He created over one hundred questionnaires and wrote numerous articles that were given to clients as part of their therapy. Among the materials he wrote was His Needs, Her Needs, which was first published in 1986. Although it was written to be a support text for his marriage counseling program, within three years it had become a national best-seller and a basic reference for marriage counselors throughout the nation.

By 1988 he found himself spending almost all of his time administering his clinics, and very little time doing what he enjoyed most -- improving his marital therapy program. So he began turning his clinics over to the counselors who worked with him, and the ownership of his last clinic was transferred in 1993. Since then, he has written 19 more books and hundreds of articles.

Dr. Harley continues to write, speak, and lead seminars throughout the US and Canada. For information regarding booking arrangements for his weekend seminar, "How to Fall in Love and Stay in Love," click this link for more information.

Dr. and Mrs. Harley also host a daily one-hour call-in show, Marriage Builders Radio. It can be heard on radio stations and on the Internet. They have been married for 54 years and live in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. They have two adult children, who are now working with them as marriage coaches, and four grandchildren.

Marriage After Infidelity w/ Dr. Earl Wilson EP 126 Mar 15, 2018
    Show notes

    Dr. Earl Wilson

"God has called Sandy and me to minister to people in crisis resulting from pornography and other forms of sexual entanglements. These invariably bring pain and destruction.

"After having lived for the Lord for many years I became entangled in my own sexual sin. My entanglements had reached addictive proportions, and my sinful choices had put in jeopardy all the things I claimed to be near and dear to me: my marriage, my family, my career, and my writing and speaking ministry. I had been "sorry" for my sexual sin, but I had never truly repented. I now understand that true repentance demands turning around and running away from the sin. I finally did repent in 1989. I remember crying out to God, 'Lord I will face it all, and I will forsake it all.' Repentance became the foundation for a prolonged period of emotional and spiritual healing leading to recovery and restoration. I am grateful for the Lord, my wife, family, and the spiritual care team who walked with me through the process."

Dr. Earl Wilson received his ThB. degree from Multnomah University and his Ph.D from the University of Oregon. Earl became a counselor at Idaho State University and then a faculty member at the University of Nebraska, where he was promoted to tenured full professor and director of the Counseling Psychology and Rehabilitation Counseling Programs.

During the 1970-1971 school year, Earl and his family took a leave of absence, and Earl taught counseling at the National University for Teachers Education in Tehran, Iran.

In the fall of 1977, Earl joined the faculty of Western Seminary as a professor in the doctoral program in psychology. He served in that capacity until 1989 when his sin became public. After serving a year of probation levied by Oregon State Board of Psychologist Examiners, Earl returned to private practice but shifted the focus to men who are entrenched in sexually compulsive behavior (sexual addiction).

Earl has authored and co-authored 15 books and booklets. His video series Especially for Men is available for viewing on this website.

    David Dusek, 52

Founder and Executive Director of Rough Cut Men Ministries

Author of : "Rough Cut Men: A Man's Battle Guide to Building Real Relationships with Each Other and with Jesus" (#1 on Amazon in "Men's Christian Living" in 2016)

Forthcoming Book: "The Battle: Tactics for Biblical Manhood Learned from LTG Hal Moore and the Men of LZ X-Ray"

Keynote at the US Military Academy at West Point and working with the US Army worldwide (101st Airborne, 1st Cavalry Division, 3rd Infantry Division, etc.) in the US, Korea and Germany. Also, creating a video series for the US Army (that's a whole different story and a cool one at that)

He has a passion to break down walls in the lives of men, in an effort to combat isolation and friendlessness. In a word, we help men find their "battle buddy" as they go through life. In the military, isolation leads to addictions, alcoholism, domestic violence and even suicide.

Authentic Leadership w/ Kai Munshi EP 120 Feb 23, 2018
    Show notes

Kai Munshi is a Security Manager for a Federal Agency based in Georgia.

Federal Law Enforcement for 16 years previously serving with:

    • S. Department of Justice – Office of Inspector General in Washington, D.C. as a Special Agent
    • S. Secret Service as a Special Agent in Denver Field Office and later with the Counter Assault Team in Washington, D.C.

Prior to becoming a Special Agent, served for 8 years as an infantry officer in the U.S. Marine Corps (peacetime service -- no combat deployments) with:

    • 3rd Marine Division in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii
    • Marine Corps Ground Defense Security Forces in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
    • Marine Corps Combat Development Command in Quantico, Virginia

My proudest professional accomplishment is earning the title of a U.S. Marine and serving as an infantry officer. My experience as a Marine instilled a set of values, physical and mental fortitude, and drive to succeed that define my work ethic. That experience early in my adult life also helped me become extremely adaptable to change. I embrace change and love it.

Personally (and most importantly), I absolutely adore and am very proud of my wife and daughters. They are kind, loyal, funny, and inspire me to be a better man.

I am very passionate about the concept of authentic leadership. There are a lot of different definitions of an authentic leader but mine would be an individual who is self-aware of their strengths and weakness, leads with integrity, has purpose, puts others above themselves, and doesn't pretend to be something they are not. The world is seriously lacking in these types of individuals.

My mission at the present time is to develop into a truly authentic leader – a man who leads with the same conviction at home that he does at work. If I am being consistent and truly genuine in all my interactions, my friends and family should see me in the same light as my co-workers, subordinates, and superiors.
