Holy Hell: The Cult of Marcus Wesson May 16, 2025

Show notes

When religion turns to manipulation and devotion becomes deadly, what’s left is a twisted legacy soaked in blood. In this episode of Love Kills X Melanin Mayhem, I'm diving into the disturbing case of Marcus Wesson—a man who called himself a prophet, ruled his household like a cult leader, and shattered the lives of everyone under his control.

Wesson’s version of “family” was built on lies, incest, isolation, and a warped form of love that ended in one of the most horrifying mass murders California has ever seen. This is the story of blind obedience, stolen innocence, and a God complex gone completely unchecked.

Tune in as we unravel the layers of manipulation, spiritual distortion, and generational trauma behind the man who blurred the lines between husband, father, uncle and grandfather...

This week on Melanin Mayhem, I'm shining a blacklight on a Navy man who was hiding straight-up diabolical tendencies behind his unform. Our mayhem maker had folks fooled—rockin’ uniforms by day and terrorizing women by night. A so-called family man, out here committing vicious rapes and murders in the streets of Oakland like it was a second job.

He caught some time in the ‘80s for a string of rapes and assaults —but it wasn’t until decades later that DNA finally brought what was done in the dark, to the light.

Another tale of a twisted sadist walking around undetected.

Strap in—this episode’s a wild one.

The Shopping Cart Killer May 07, 2025

Show notes

This week on Melanin Mayhem, we’re rolling deep into the shadows of the DMV, where a smooth-talking hobosexual used one of the most ordinary items imaginable to cover up some of the most horrific crimes. Disappearances turned into headlines, headlines into horror stories—and all roads led toa low-budget, no-conscience, discount store demon that turned a damn shopping cart into a body disposal system. With dating apps as his lure and motels as his stage, this killer managed to stay under the radar until bodies began to stack up. Get ready because it's a crazy tale of terror.

Alright y’all, this week we're taking it to the other side of the pond—South London, 1986. Seems like America ain't the only place were sickos have a preference for shenanigans of the sexual nature against senior citizens . Our Melanin Mayhem maker had the people shook because somebody’s dusty ass grandson was out here creeping through windows and snatching souls and booty holes like a bedtime Grim Reaper.

No alarms. No witnesses. Just silence, slippers, stiff bodies and semen stains in the morning. This audacious ass mf was in it for the thrill of the kill and to rob the victims of their dignity and a few coins. This diabolical raping, killing, sadistic criminal was pure darkness—but it wouldn't be long before all his crimes came to light.

Noir Nation, this week I bring you the story of Kenneth Erskine AKA the Stockwell Strangler.

This week we dive into the mysterious and legendary story of one of the most powerful drug kingpins of the 20th century that you’ve probably never heard of. Rising from humble beginnings, our mayhem maker built a multi-million dollar empire that stretched across the country, outsmarted law enforcement, and cut the mob out of his business. Then, in 1973, he vanished without a trace — never to be seen again. Was it a carefully planned escape, or something more sinister? Join me as we unravel the life, legacy, and lasting mystery of the man that was richer than the mob. This week I bring you the story of Frank Matthews AKA Black Caesar.

Y'all ever hear a name and immediately know that person ain't gon' be shit? That's how we kickin’ off the Love Kills series. Today we’re diving into the tragic and infuriating story of Ruby Gosha — a young woman who fell for a smooth-talking, two-bit thug with a rap sheet longer than I-75. What started as infatuation turned into a horror story full of red flags, violence, and one man's crash-out obsession that ended in senseless tragedy.

The Killer Who Snitched on Himself Apr 16, 2025

It’s our one-year anniversary here at Melanin Mayhem, and you already know the country girl never shows up empty-handed! This week, we’re diving into a story that didn’t unravel piece by piece like most — it came crashing down because the killer had loose lips.

Our mayhem maker roamed from state to state, leaving a silent trail of death behind him. Black women were disappearing, but the authorities weren't connecting the dots — even though there was someone trying to put them up on game.

From ignored warnings to jaw-dropping confessions, this episode is a wild ride through missed opportunities, systemic failure, and one man’s twisted murder shenanigans across the country.

And since it is our anniversary, I’ve got a few surprises in the works — something new is dropping soon, and I think you're really gonna like it.

The Stocking Strangler Apr 09, 2025

Hello lovers of Black true crime, and welcome back to Melanin Mayhem, where the stories are melanated, the mayhem is maximum, and the chaos never takes a day off.

Now, I thought I had my little internal criminal ranking system all figured out. You know—petty thief over here, violent offender over there, like folks just stay in one lane. But babyyyy, this week’s case? It blew that whole theory out the water.

Imagine someone who looks like they just stepped out of a 70s soul train line—clean, charming, slick talkin’, and heavy in the streets. But behind the designer shades and the hustle… was a monster. And not the kind you see coming.

Let’s just say this man’s crimes weren’t confined to one lane—or even one decade. And the victims? We've seen them before.

So, if you thought you knew what evil looked like… think again. This week, we’re peeling back the layers on a case full of smooth lies, street-level grime, and a darkness that’ll leave you speechless.

This is the story of Carlton Gary AKA The Stocking Strangler.

Pretty Ricky Apr 02, 2025

Show notes

Hey Noir Nation. Let me ask you something—what happens when good looks, smooth talk, and a taste for the finer things in life mix with a whole lot of broke and a petty thief? Well, today’s mayhem maker was just that—a pretty boy who knew how to work a room, but when the charm ran out, the crime kicked in. He went from finessing his way through life to making folks disappear—literally.

This man had Missouri shook, and let me tell you, when they say pretty hurts, they ain't never lied. Because today, I'm bringing you the story of Richard Grissom Jr, who I like to call Pretty Ricky—a sticky finger nigga turned stone-cold killer. Buckle up, ‘cause this one is wild.
