The Wise Leader Sep 21, 2022
    Show notes

This week, we're talking about a word that often comes to mind when we think of leadership. And that word is "wisdom." As Sandra Carey says, "Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life." So, in today's lesson, John Maxwell is going to share his own thoughts on wisdom, and what it really means to be a wise leader. Plus, he also shares some thoughts on wisdom from Benjamin Franklin.

Once, John is done with his lesson, Mark Cole and Chris Goede discuss John's lesson, the role that wisdom plays in their leadership, and what it truly looks like to "live skillfully."

The Leadership Loop Aug 31, 2022
    Show notes

Many leaders think that leadership flows in one direct: from top to bottom. But if leadership is influence––nothing more, nothing less––then leadership can flow from bottom to top and from side to side. That's called leading across. Leading across means leading your colleagues, your peers––people you don't have positional leadership over. In today's lesson, John Maxwell is going to teach the 7 phases of the leadership loop, which every leader who wishes to lead across must embrace.

After John's lesson, Mark Cole will be joined by Chris Goede to discuss what they've learned as they've embraced these principles to lead across within the Maxwell Leadership organization.

Ten Tools for Gaining a New Perspective Aug 17, 2022

When facing a problem or an obstacle, great leaders try to understand the problem before making a decision. A leader's ability to gain new perspectives around an issue is a characteristic that separates leaders who succeed from leaders who get stuck where they are. That's because perspective is key to understanding problems.

This week, John Maxwell is going to teach you ten tools for gaining a new perspective. Then, for the application portion of the episode, Mark Cole is joined by Becky Bursell to discuss the ways they challenge themselves daily to stay sharp and maintain an objective perspective to serve their teams and the Maxwell Leadership organization.
