Hi guys, welcome to part 9 of our women of steel series. Today, we’ve got double trouble going down in the studio as I chat to Perri King and Taryn Sharman. Combining a creative background with business consultancy experience, these girls leverage creative solutions for their clients to help them unlock better performing revenue streams. At their “absolutely not an ad agency”, Faith & Fear, these girls describe themselves as “uncomfortable in comfort zones”. They push boundaries, take risks, and experiment with tactics, technology and platforms. This is exactly why they are totally against being called an ad agency. They are stepping outside of the traditional and move towards the exceptional. They really have a great story to share, especially if you’re interested in what it takes to change your life and grow something from scratch. That’s why they qualify as women of steel. So let’s not waste any more time, get inspired by Perri and Taryn.

Welcome to part eight of our women of steel series. It’s no secret that the internet has become a dangerous place, especially for our children. Cyber bullying is a reality that most parents don’t even know how to comprehend, let alone deal with. Let’s not even get into the dangers of child pornography and the dark web. Thank god we have heroes (or “heroines”) like Rianette Leibowitz. She’s helping South Africans protect their children from the terrifying realities that the internet presents. As the founder of SaveTNet Cyber Safety, her only goal is to help us save our children’s lives. Whether she is talking to school assemblies or corporate keynotes, Rianette is fighting for what she calls “the amazing-ness of cyberspace”, helping us navigate relationships between digital and physical space. We can all learn something from this. Even if you don’t have children, you may know someone who may desperately need this information. It could literally save a life. So let’s not waste any more time. Get into it.

Hey guys, not that I’m an authority, but being a woman shouldn’t be a limiting factor to reaching great heights and paving the way for business success. While we all want to live in a world where gender doesn’t play a role in the way we do business. Unfortunately, that’s still a reality and my next guest is here to tell us why that’s not necessarily a bad thing and that women can learn a lot from men and the way they do business. In part seven of our women of steel series, I talk to Author, Speaker, and Entrepreneur, Donna Rachelson who has a lot to say about how to play as a woman in business. Donna is a driven entrepreneur with a passion for helping women, entrepreneurs and corporate go-getters make their mark.

Hey guys, welcome to part 6 of the women of steel series powered by the Matt Brown Show. Today, we’re diving into high performance culture. The truth is, company culture is not just about providing perks like ping pong tables and team happy hours. Sure, these can help develop and maintain it, these kinds of activities don’t really represent high performance company culture as a whole. In the case of my next guest, Dani Dixon, my old colleague in advertising, and now head of marketing at one of South Africa’s biggest investment banks, she has proven that even a bank needs to put creativity at the centre of a high performance culture, not just to disrupt the market but to deliver growth. We also explore the role of women in a high performance culture and listen closely for insights into the culture of the all blacks rugby team.

Welcome to part 5 of the women of steel series powered by the Matt Brown Show. In this episode we are going to take a deep dive into what is arguably one of the biggest technology revolutions in the world of business today, and it’s called the Cloud. Now, the term “the Cloud” has been coined for some time now, but if you are not actively playing in the space it is easy to get left behind in recent market developments. So to put the size of the Cloud market in perspective, Microsoft reported earnings for its fourth fiscal quarter of 2019, which included revenue of $33.7 billion, with $11.4 billion of that being driven from Cloud related sales - that’s $11.4 billion made in 12 weeks and an increase of 19% compared to the previous 12 weeks. But what is driving this growth and why are businesses of all sizes flocking to the Cloud? To get the answer I turned to Natasha Bezuidenhout, the Microsoft Brand Executive at First Distribution, Africa’s leading Cloud distributor. Natasha is one of the leading women in tech in Africa and is at the spearhead of the Cloud revolution currently underway in Africa.
