    Day 80 || Diversify Your Friend Group Apr 21, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 80 - how diverse is your friend group? We should be hanging out with vast groups of people who think, act, and live differently than ourselves. When we do so, it expands our worldview and our potential. Healthy discourse is incredibly important to understanding other cultures and perspectives. Hiding in an echo chamber of like minded humans repeating the same like minded thoughts means we will never be challenged to think critically about the world. That’s how people lose their sense of free will and end up in lifestyles that push other people’s dreams instead of our own.

    Day 79 || Yucking Someone's Yum Apr 20, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 79 - Nobody likes a killjoy.

    If someone gets a kick out of anything at all - don’t let shame enter the conversation. We should be supporting joy and excitement in any form and when we put down people’s enjoyment of things - we tell them we’re not supportive or safe people to share things with. As long as they’re not hurting anyone else, it shouldn’t matter what your opinion is on the subject.

    Day 78 || Breakups are a B!tch Apr 19, 2021
    Show notes

    By severing a relationship that was not serving your best light - you are allowing space for new relationships to grow and thrive together in search of that light. Some people will use you as their soil in order to grow instead of growing with you, and sometimes those people don’t want to grow, because it would affect them negatively. Other times, we use people as our soil to nourish ourselves without ever considering their highest good.

    Day 77 || Our Reactions Hold The Power Apr 18, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 77 - Situations and people are powerless without our reactions to them. I have often reiterated how valid all of our feelings are - no matter how dark or terrible the feeling - but I want to reemphasize the fact that despite our feelings being valid, our responses to those feeling are not always acceptable or appropriate.

    Day 76 || Nourished Soul vs. Nourished Ego Apr 17, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 76 - Does this nourish my soul or does this nourish my ego? It doesn’t mean everything needs to be changed to feed your soul right now - not everything can or will be aimed towards your highest good - but it does mean you can become more in control and aware of the people who are helping you grow vs those who may want you to stay stagnant.

    Day 75 || Mixed Signals = A Nope Apr 16, 2021
    Show notes

    Take the on again, off again attention as a no instead of a mixed signal. There is nothing more clear than a person only accommodating your expectations when it is convenient for them.

    Day 74 || Boundaries Can Be Liberating Apr 15, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 74 - Boundaries seem like they only serve to set limitations on those around us, but in reality, they are setting guidelines to work within. Which can be incredibly liberating. It’s not about holding others accountable as much as it should be about self advocacy. If you don’t show people how to treat you, how on earth could they possibly know how to treat you.

    Day 73 || Small Talk for Big Moves Apr 14, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 73 - Small talk is low risk, low commitment, and can push you into stronger relationships in the long run. Taking initiative to start small talk can demonstrate confidence and can decrease anxiety around socializing - which can give you more power to create and nurture the relationships you would like to have in your life.

    Day 72 || Silence Won't Kill Ya Apr 13, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 72 - Most people are not comfortable in silence. We often feel awkward or even an unmentioned pressure to fill the silences in almost a performative way. That said, silence can be incredibly powerful. In both casual conversations and intense negotiations - it can signify a sense of confidence and comfortability and contentment. How comfortable are you with the silences? Do the lulls in conversation stress you out? Or - do they allow you a moment to process what was previously said? Do silences make you feel pressure to perform or do they allow you a moment to reconnect with the speaker? When you’re conversing with others, check to see if you are really listening to the words as they are said or if you are simply waiting for your turn to respond and speak in return.

    Day 71 || People Pleasin' Apr 12, 2021
    Show notes

    Day 71 - You must come to terms with the fact that you can’t be responsible for anyone else’s emotions or feelings. You have to learn to stop interfering with the people in your life’s bad feelings as they arise. If someone is sad, upset, or angry - let them be. Blocking them from feeling their feelings fully, holds them back from learning how to deal with those hard feelings on their own. Not all emotions will be pleasant ones. That’s okay and normal. You can still be a supportive friend or partner without aiming to change the trajectory of a situation.
