Show notes
Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs first went to the national championship in 2017, led by a pair of point guards in Nigel Williams-Goss and Josh Perkins and a quartet of quality big men in Przemek Karnowski, Johnathan Williams, Zach Collins, and Killian Tillie. Seven years later, the current Zags roster looks eerily similar: with two point guards in Nolan Hickman and Ryan Nembhard and four bigs in Graham Ike, Anton Watson, Zach Collins, and Killian Tillie. With similar offensive and defensive efficiency at KenPom, and a nearly identical tempo, could this team repeat history and go to the Final 4?
We then discuss each Zag in the NBA after their first 20 or games of the season, including Chet Holmgren's Rookie of the Year campaign, Jalen Suggs' career performance, and Domantas Sabonis quest for another All-Star game.
Finally, we close out the show discussing Drew Timme, who dropped 30 points for the Wisconsin Herd and drew the attention of Mark Few, who spoke about him after the Arkansas Pine Bluff game. We also discuss Marco Gonzales, former Gonzaga pitcher who was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Atlanta Braves and then flipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
