Steelers' DK Metcalf/George Pickens to Make 'Weapons of Pass Destruction' Duo? | Ranking Draft CB Apr 04, 2025

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast and is joined by Derrick Bell of SteelersNow.com.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receivers DK Metcalf and George Pickens are both deep threats, but Christopher Carter and Derrick Bell think there's more to them as a pair. Could Metcalf and Pickens become the 'weapons of pass destruction' duo that makes the Steelers' passing game come alive even with mid-tier quarterback play like Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph?

Also, Chris and Derrick go over the cornerback prospects of the NFL Draft and where Derrick has several of the top and middle prospects ranked. Could Azareye'h Thomas be the mid-round steal? Or should the Steelers go for a Will Johnson-type of cornerback in the first round? Finally, Chris and Derrick go over the day two and three quarterback prospects like Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, Will Howard and Tyler Shough to find who the best options are for a later quarterback pick by the Steelers.

Steelers' DK Metcalf's Workout w/Aaron Rodgers Shows Deal is Imminent? | Omar Khan on Comp Pick Plan Apr 01, 2025

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com.

The Pittsburgh Steelers receiver DK Metcalf worked out with Aaron Rodgers Monday, which further shows a deal may be imminent between the team and the quarterback. Christopher Carter and Alan Saunders discuss the situation, and why it further shows that the team isn't pressed about the quarterback situation or desperate to sign Rodgers ASAP.

Also, Chris and Alan review how both Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan addressed the Steelers' quarterback decisions this offseason and how the team let both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson walk in free agency. Also, Khan opened up about the Steelers' compensatory pick plan and why it continues to show the Steelers aren't interested in a first round quarterback in 2025 and more interested in a first round 2026 quarterback they can trade up for next year.

Steelers' Mike Tomlin Hints at Longer Plan for DK Metcalf-George Pickens | NFL Draft QB Smokescreen? Mar 31, 2025

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin spoke at NFL owners' meetings about the Steelers' receiver situation with DK Metcalf and George Pickens. Christopher Carter thinks there could be a longer term plan for the duo than just a 2025 campaign if Pickens plays his part well enough to earn the franchise tag or even a second future contract.

Also, Chris answers your questions on the Locked on Steelers call-in line. One of those questions hints at the potential of a smokescreen of the Steeler's real quarterback plans for the NFL Draft that could protect the Steelers' true intentions in the draft. Chris weighs that, and whether the Steelers actually want a quarterback in the first round, as well as picks this week's Mock Draft Monday winner.

Steelers' Navigation of QB Madness During Aaron Rodgers Wait | Broderick Jones Finally to Play LT Mar 28, 2025

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' search for their starting quarterback continues during the Aaron Rodgers wait, but Christopher Carter wants to remind Steelers fans about what's most important. While others will raise wild speculations about the Steelers' quarterback plan, Chris points out the very obvious clues Mike Tomlin, Omar Khan and the Steelers' moves so far have laid out. And why those clues don't point to a big reach in the first round of the NFL Draft for Jalen Milroe.

Also, Chris answers your questions on the call-in line, including if the Steelers will look at Shedeur Sanders if he falls in the first round, the usage of Broderick Jones, Cam Heyward's future and more.
