Steelers Draft Right WR in Germie Bernard to Complement DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman? | DREW ALLAR?! Apr 25, 2026

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast.

The Pittsburgh Steelers had an active day two of the NFL Draft when they selected Germie Bernard, Drew Allar, Daylen Everette and Gennings Dunker. But were these the right moves for the Steelers? Christopher Carter gives his reactions to the picks, including how he sees Bernard fitting in with DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. in the passing attack. Could Bernard be the route running presence this offense needs? Also, Chris gives his thoughts on the decision to draft Drew Allar early in the third round. Was this a reach by the Steelers for a backup quarterback prospect who will most likely compete with Will Howard? Or does Allar bring traits to the Steelers' quarterback room tat are undeniable? And do Everette and Dunker fit what the Steelers need in the secondary and the offensive line?

Steelers Caught Unprepared by Eagles Trade for Makai Lemon | Max Iheanachor Brings Athleticism to OL Apr 24, 2026

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Arizona State offensive tackle Max Iheanachor with their first round pick of the NFL Draft. But that only happened after the Philadelphia Eagles caught them woefully unprepared with their trade up to get USC receiver Makai Lemon. Christopher Carter gives his reaction to how poorly Omar Khan played the situation, where he thought the Steelers were getting their top target and instead got played by the Dallas Cowboys and the Eagles. How could the Steelers have better handled their first round? And could this be a huge mistake? Chris also breaks down the upside of drafting Iheanachor, an athletic offensive tackle who could have a bright future in the NFL. But where will he fit on the Steelers' offensive line? Will he replace Broderick Jones at left tackle even though Iheanachor was exclusively a right tackle? Will he be the final piece to complete the Steelers' offensive line of the future? And who are the top players left for the Steelers to target in the second and third rounds?

Steelers Draft Gamble: Go All-In for Elite Prospect like Caleb Downs or Preserve Picks, Stack Talent Apr 22, 2026

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Nick Farabaugh of PennLive.com.

The Pittsburgh Steelers can make a big trade for an elite prospect or hold onto their picks for premium options, but they can't do both. Which is the best move? Christopher Carter and Nick Farabaugh weigh on the decision that faces Omar Khan and Andy Weidl. Should the team go all-in for top prospects like Caleb Downs or Makai Lemon? Or should they hold onto their picks and stack premium prospects like Omar Cooper Jr. and Treydan Stukes? Also could defensive back be the position with sneaky day two value? Players like Keionte Scott, A.J. Haulcy, D'Angelo Ponds and Stukes could make the position too good to pass up in the second and third rounds. Could that be better value than second round receivers like Germie Bernard and Zachariah Branch? And how long can the Steelers afford to wait to draft a guard like Keylan Rutledge or Chase Bisontis.

Can Steelers Wait for Omar Cooper Jr. Without Trading Up? | 1st Round Mock Draft 2.0 | Keep the 3-4? Apr 21, 2026

Show notes

Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, and is joined by Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com.

The Pittsburgh Steelers need a top receiver in the NFL Draft, but can they afford to wait to see if Omar Cooper Jr. or K.C. Concepcion fall to them? Christopher Carter and Alan Saunders go over Chris' full first round mock draft, and look at where the Steelers could decide to trade up to make sure they get their preferred first round pick? Do the Steelers need to trade up to get ahead of the Ravens? How expensive would a trade be to get Makai Lemon, Jordyn Tyson, Olaivavega Ioane, or Caleb Downs? Also, Chris and Alan discuss the recent comments from Mike McCarthy and Omar Khan on their draft plans. Will the Steelers actually look to use all 12 draft picks? And did Broderick Jones actually suffer a setback in his recovery? Could offensive tackle be a bigger concern in the Steelers' draft plans? And defensive coordinator made comments on the Steelers' plans to keep their 3-4 defense. But is that the right move?
