Mike D’Antoni Leaving, Bruce Brown Staying? And Who Should the Nets Draft Pt III Jul 29, 2021
    Show notes

On the day of the NBA Draft, the Locked on Nets guys Adam Armbrecht and Doug Norrie are breaking down all things Brooklyn Nets basketball. Even with the draft looming, there are other bits of news in Nets’ land hanging out there. The first is that Mike D’Antoni won’t be returning to the Nets’ bench as an assistant coach next season, instead seeking out other head coaching jobs. Also, the Nets extended a qualifying offer to Bruce Brown at the start of his restricted free agency.

Then they get into the draft looking at a couple more players that could fall to the Nets like Isaiah Todd and Usman Garuba. And finally, they discuss the rumors that the Nets are looking to possibly trade Landry Shamet and DeAndre Jordan.

Who should the Nets draft? Part II - Talking Jaden Springer, Ayo Dosunmu and more Jul 28, 2021
    Show notes

The Locked on Nets guys continue to prep for the NBA Draft with some looks at potential picks for the Brooklyn Nets. There’s a lot to like in the area where the Nets are drafting and they take a look at four more prospects today. They start things off with Jaden Springer from Tennessee, a combo guard who might not fall all the way to Brooklyn.

Then they take a look at Ayo Dosunmu from Illinois who is a bit older, but definitely has the ability to score on the NBA level. They follow up with Quentin Grimes, a 3 and D wing whose defense and ability to catch and shoot could help the Nets this season. And finally, it’s Josh Christopher from Arizona State.

Who should the Nets draft? - Talking Isaiah Jackson, JT Thor and others Jul 27, 2021
    Show notes

The Locked on Nets guys are back and this time around are talking about the upcoming NBA Draft and how the Nets should approach their pick at 27. At the start, Doug Norrie and Adam Armbrecht discuss draft philosophy around picking players on talent or need and how the Nets should be looking at this draft. Then they get into three possible big men who could be at 27 (or lower) for the Nets. Those would be Isaiah Jackson from North Carolina, Dayron Sharpe from Kentucky, and JT Thor from Auburn.

All three are intriguing but for very different reasons. They discuss each guy, what they would need to develop and how they would fit on the Nets.

Kevin Durant and USA Basketball, plus NBA Draft Coverage Jul 26, 2021
    Show notes

Adam Armbrecht is back talking all things Brooklyn Nets Basketball on a solo Monday show! Adam kicks off the week first with a look back at Sunday's disappointing loss for Kevin Durant and USA basketball at the hands of France. The loss broke a 24 game win streak for team USA and with Greg Popovich stating "We’ve been preparing for France for two years. I think about it every day,” it makes you wonder what went wrong and if the international game brings superstar talent back to the mean.

Adam then turns his attention to the NBA Draft and the big offseason talking point, Spencer Dinwiddie. While Spencer Dinwiddie has made his contract desires clear, there is now a growing perception that the market may not be a robust as once thought. Retaining Dinwiddie, or moving him in a sign and trade really won't impact their Draft day plans in Adam's mind. There has been a clear need for defensive talent in support of the super talents of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. With a late first round pick Adam discusses the potential steal of the draft from a Brooklyn Nets concern and why finding a key championship contributor is possible at the 27th overall pick!

The Locked on Nets guys are live in Spotify’s Green Room talking more Brooklyn Nets basketball. This time they are talking about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s post-finals comments about doing things the “hard way” when it came to winning a title. It was clearly a shot at, at the very least, James Harden who had made comments a year ago about Giannis’s skills (or lack thereof) on the basketball court.

The guys talk about what Giannis said and whether he was actually looking at his situation correctly. They discuss the nature of team-building and the superstars you need to win.

That’s because the Milwaukee Bucks won the NBA championship on Tuesday night, defeating the Phoenix Suns in Game 6. Show notes

On a Monday morning to Locked on Nets guys are back breaking down everything you need to know about the team as we roll through this NBA offseason. They start off the show giving some quick thoughts about Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Bucks and Suns. It was an awesome game that puts the Bucks firmly in the driver’s seat heading back home for Game 6.

Then they discuss a recent free agent breakdown by LockedOn’s own John Hollinger who wrote about different contract values this offseason. His numbers have Bruce Brown worth more than Spencer Dinwiddie on the open market. Can this be true? Could we be looking at a flip in what we thought the two would command in the free-agent market?
