Have the San Francisco Giants finally found their mojo again? After beating the Cubs for their third straight win, the team is showing a fight we haven’t seen since before the All-Star break. They battled back with clutch two-out hits, Justin Verlander earned his first Oracle Park win, and the energy feels different — but is it real or just another short run? Also, Allen reveals what he has been told regarding Bob Melvin's option that was picked up, as well as his future.
Next, we revisit the Rafael Devers trade. The star slugger hasn’t set the world on fire in San Francisco, slashing .226/.335/.407, and the early struggles have sparked debate about whether the Giants should feel buyer’s remorse. We compare his adjustment period to other stars like Trea Turner and explain why it’s still far too soon to grade the trade.
Finally, we hit on injury updates and the schedule release. Landen Roupp avoids an ACL tear but is still probably out for the year, Randy Rodríguez faces uncertainty after arm soreness, and Ryan Walker steps up in the closer role. Plus, MLB has given the Giants a marquee Opening Night matchup — Yankees vs Giants to kick off 2026 — and we break down what that says about how the league views San Francisco.
