LOCKED ON COLTS 3/23/20: Colts Cut Pierre Desir, Brian Hoyer + Best Round 2 Draft Options Mar 23, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Zach Hicks of Stampede Blue is back to help go over a lot of Colts news on your Monday.

First up, why did the Colts release Pierre Desir? The veteran corner underachieved thanks to injury, but surprising nonetheless he was waived and immediately picked up by the Jets. What happens next at CB? Don't be surprised if they draft another corner in Round 2.

Brian Hoyer was cut, which means Jacoby Brissett is still around at QB. What's going to happen with Brissett and that situation after Hoyer lands in New England again? Also, how will the Colts address losing Joe Haeg and Josh Andrews as valuable depth pieces as well on the offensive line?

We close with some Mock Draft Monday talk on best options in Round 2. What could the plan possibly be for Ballard and Co. this time next month?

LOCKED ON COLTS 3/20/20: Where the Colts stand in the AFC hierarchy following Buckner + Rivers moves Mar 20, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin joins to go over the DeForest Buckner and Philip Rivers moves. What does this mean not only for Indianapolis, but the whole AFC playoff picture? As other AFC South teams lost talent, Indy is adding premium ones.

A 3-level breakdown of how Buckner will change the Colts' defensive line, linebackers, and defensive backs. Buckner is truly a foundational piece that will elevate everyone.

Who will benefit most from Philip Rivers' arrival, and should re-signing Devin Funchess now be a priority for Indy? Rivers has always thrived with a big-bodied playmaker.

LOCKED ON COLTS 3/19/20: Analyzing the Buckner, Rivers fireworks with 1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen Mar 19, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Kevin Bowen returns to the show to help recap the initial fireworks from Indy featuring DeForest Buckner and Philip Rivers.

Do we truly realize the impact Buckner will have on this defense? Linebackers are going to run free for days with less pressure on the secondary as well.

What does Rivers bring to this offense, and what moves need to happen next? Don't be surprised if Devin Funchess returns to play the Mike Williams role. Also, expect a heavy offense draft next month.

Finally, what happens with Jacoby Brissett and where does Indy rank right now in the AFC? All of that, plus much more, you won't want to miss with Bowen!

LOCKED ON COLTS 3/18/20: DeForest Buckner deep dive with Locked On 49ers' Brian Peacock Mar 18, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Brian Peacock of Locked On 49ers joins to take a deep dive into the Colts-49ers trade featuring DeForest Buckner. What type of player are the Colts actually getting with Buckner?

Analyzing the move for both sides, why did San Francisco decide to do this? Will they replace Buckner with Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw? Trading back is also on the table, too. Colts landing Buckner for No. 13 is their pseudo 1st-round pick now.

How does Buckner fit in the Colts' zone-heavy scheme? As a penetrating 3-tech, Buckner should wreck havoc and free up players like Darius Leonard and Justin Houston even further.

Also, Buckner the person fits the Colts' culture even more than the player. Indianapolis paid a hefty price for the star defensive tackle because he checks every box as a foundational building block.

Rivers signed a 1-year, $25 million deal with the Colts to be their new starting quarterback. What type of upgrade is Rivers over Brissett? Also, where will Jacoby Brissett land now as he's presumably on the way out?

DeForest Buckner will have a huge impact on the Colts' defense. Zach helps dive into the reasons why Buckner changed the ceiling of their defense completely long-term.

LOCKED ON COLTS 3/16/20: Colts open free agency trading No. 13 pick for DeForest Buckner, Philip Rivers rumors intensify Mar 17, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, which was recorded moments after the DeForest became official, Evan was joined by Stampede Blue's Steven Reed for raw reaction.

What will Buckner bring to the Colts, and what was the No. 13 overall too much? Buckner will change the Colts' defense immediately, and now their defensive line has terrifying potential. Justin Houston, Denico Autry, Buckner, and Kemoko Turay. Watch out.

Also, we talk through the Philip Rivers rumors. If Ballard is going all-in on a title run with Rivers, Indy won't be done either. Who are other names to watch? Who are prospects to watch in the second round now, unless they trade up for a sliding QB (Herbert or Love).

Finally, we close on Anthony Castonzo re-signing on a 2-year, $33 million deal.
