Is the Colts' defense for real? Oct 09, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Evan is joined by Stephen Reed from Stampede Blue to go over the Colts' win in Chicago and look ahead to Cleveland. Also, stay tuned for a lot of talks surrounding Indy's No. 1 ranked defense.

Is the Colts' defense for real? It sure seems that way over the last three weeks, but now this is the portion of the schedule we will truly find out. DeForest Buckner and Justin Houston have been huge keys to their early success, but don't forget about rookie safety Julian Blackmon. These three with Darius Leonard form a fearsome foursome that could rock the AFC in 2020.

How has Philip Rivers been through the quarter poll of the 2020-21 season? The efficiency is there, but the points on the scoreboard have dipped a little bit. What should we expect moving forward from Rivers?

We close on the Browns game. What will happen in Cleveland? This is going to be another closely contested battle with AFC positioning on the line.

Crossover Special with Locked On Browns Oct 08, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, it's the latest Locked On NFL Crossover Special as we're here to preview Colts vs. Browns. Hosts Evan Sidery and Jeff Lloyd joins forces to go in-depth on this all-important AFC matchup.

Starting off in Cleveland, how has Kevin Stefanski been different than Freddie Kitchens? Why is the team responding better so far? Also, how about Baker Mayfield adjusting in Year 3? The Browns are trying to build honestly in a similar way as Colts GM Chris Ballard did in Indianapolis.

Over in Indy, the Colts are hot with three straight wins themselves. Unlike Cleveland, the defense has been carrying Indianapolis. DeForest Buckner is the most impactful defensive lineman in the AFC. Sorry, Browns fans, even more than Myles Garrett. What about the injuries? How will Indy overcome a few critical ones?

Closing out the show, we provide predictions. Who wins this battle between Cleveland and Indianapolis? All of this, plus so much more, in a Colts vs. Browns deep dive!

Colts dominant on defense once again in 19-11 win over Bears Oct 06, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Anthony Smith from Coast To Coast Scouting joins Evan to recap a 19-11 slugfest win for the Colts over Chicago. Three straight weeks now where the defense has truly dominated the football game. Is this now legit? We're truly going to find against the Browns' high-powered offense.

DeForest Buckner and Justin Houston have reset the line of scrimmage, while Julian Blackmon looks like the next homegrown defensive star. Just how good can this defense be?

Philip Rivers didn't have a great game, but he was efficient when it mattered. However, changes need to be made. Maybe a more heavy pass emphasis game plan next Sunday?

Then, we preview Sunday's clash in Cleveland. Who will win the battle between the Colts' defense and Browns' offense? It will decide a crucial battle between two 3-1 squads for future AFC playoff positioning.

Crossover Special with Locked On Bears Oct 01, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Lorin Cox of Locked On Bears joins for our latest crossover special previewing Sunday's matchup between Indianapolis and Chicago. Who will come out on top in this key game for both sides?

First off in Chicago, why did the Bears make their change at QB from Mitch Trubisky to Nick Foles? With the Trubisky era officially over, how will Foles look in Matt Nagy's offense? Tarik Cohen is out, so now David Montgomery will take on a bigger role in their offense as well.

Former Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is the Bears' defensive coordinator. Why has their defense taken a step back under his control after Vic Fangio left for Denver?

In Indy, a lot has gone right for them after a disappointing opener. From the dominant defense to Mo Alie-Cox and Philip Rivers establishing a legit passing connection, are these sustainable long-term outcomes? Also, how has Chris Ballard overhauled their defense post-Pagano?

Finally, we give our predictions to Colts vs. Bears. With poor conditions expected at Soldier Field, who holds the edge?

The Mo Alie-Cox breakout + Colts vs. Bears deep dive Sep 30, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Anthony Smith of Coast To Coast Scouting joins Evan to talk through the Colts' 36-7 win before diving deep into Sunday's game against the Bears.

First up, how can we not talk about the Mo Alie-Cox breakout? Another solid outing from Big Mo has us believing he could be the future at tight end for Indy. Keep feeding Alie-Cox, and Colts OC Nick Sirianni mentioned that will happen as well. Is it possible Big Mo is the Colts' leading receiver in 2020?

Philip Rivers continues to be efficient. He's made the Colts' offense do a complete 180 compared to last season. Even though it's not gaudy numbers, hard not to notice the difference versus Jacoby Brissett in 2019.

Diving into the Bears, are they a fraudulent 3-0? We believe so, and the Colts should capitalize off it. Nick Foles took over for Mitch Trubisky, but will he actually be a better QB matchup for Indy? With a 50% chance of rain in the forecast, expect a heavy ground attack from Jonathan Taylor.

All of this, plus so much more, as we close in on next Sunday in Chicago!

Colts trounce Jets in all three phases, 36-7 Sep 29, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Stampede Blue's Stephen Reed joins to discuss the Colts' latest blowout victory. Indy destroyed the Jets in all three phases of the game, which led to one of their most impressive wins in the Frank Reich era.

The defense forced three more turnovers and a safety, so is this legit moving forward? We likely won't know until after the next weeks versus Chicago and Cleveland are completed.

Philip Rivers continues to be efficient and actually leads the NFL in completion percentage through three weeks. Is Indy extending Rivers' career another year or two longer? It sure seems that way right now.

Michael Pittman Jr. is now out until after the Colts' bye week. What happens next with the WR depth? Expect a lot of T.Y. Hilton and Zach Pascal, but, in the meantime, please keep feeding Big Mo.

Closing it out, we quickly discuss the Bears game. With rain expected, we're in store for a low-scoring slugfest. Who holds the edge?

All of this, plus so much more, as we dive into how Indy turned their record into 2-1!

Predicting Over/Unders for Colts vs. Jets Sep 26, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Anthony Smith of Coast to Coast Scouting joins Evan to go over some over/unders for the Colts' Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets.

First up, though, we discuss Anthony's thoughts on Indy's 1-1 start. Is the defense legit? Why Philip Rivers and Jonathan Taylor have exceed expectations so far. Who will replace Parris Campbell's speed at WR?

Then, we dive into the three keys for a Colts win on Sunday. In a matchup where it should be a double-digit victory on paper, Anthony lays out what he would do to make sure that happens.

Finally, we go over some player props via DraftKings as well as predict the game against the spread. Will Taylor exceed 77.5 rushing yards? Is T.Y. Hilton poised for a big outing? And there's a lot more bets to parse through as well.

All of this, plus so much more, as we go through the lead up to Week 3 one last time!

Assessing the Colts after 1-1 start with Kevin Bowen Sep 25, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, 107.5/1070 The Fan's Kevin Bowen joins the show to discuss his thoughts on how the Colts have looked through two weeks. Also, we look ahead to this Sunday's matchup with the Jets as 11.5-point favorites.

After an awful Week 1 showing from the defense, they flipped the script versus Minnesota. Should we expect that to continue, or is it somewhere in the middle of both? Also, how about Philip Rivers? Kevin believes he's been even better than original expectations so far.

How will Indy replace Marlon Mack, Malik Hooker, and Parris Campbell? The 2019 second-round pick will be the toughest to replace with his speed, so who steps up? Luckily, Jonathan Taylor and Julian Blackmon are more than ready to accept bigger roles.

Kevin also dives into some more assessments before hitting on the Jets game. Will Indy cover the spread? There's no excuses in this game for the Colts.

All of this, plus so much more, as we dive into the Colts' season so far!

Crossover Special with Locked On Jets Sep 24, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, Locked On Colts' Evan Sidery and Locked On Jets' John Butchko join forces for the latest LOPN Crossover Special to preview Colts vs. Jets on Sunday. In an important Week 3 matchup for both teams, how will they fare?

Outside of rookie left tackle Mekhi Becton, there's been no bright spots for the Jets. Is Adam Gase about to get fired? Is Sam Darnold the next Josh Rosen? How will the Jets get out of rock bottom, and is it even possible?

Moving over to Indy, this is an opportunity to make a statement. After an impressive victory over Minnesota, the ingredients are in place for another repeat performance. How has Philip Rivers fared with the Colts? Will Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr. be relied upon throughout 2020 to be big weapons?

All of this, plus so much more, as Evan and John dive deep into both sides and finish off with their predictions for Colts vs. Jets!

How the Colts will replace Parris Campbell and Malik Hooker with George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin Sep 23, 2020
    Show notes

On today's episode, George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin joins to recap the Colts' 28-11 win over Minnesota. From the defense being dominant and an efficient offense, this was an all-around great performance for Indy.

If DeForest Buckner can play like he did on Sunday every weekend, how good can this defense actually be? Also, Julian Blackmon had a debut similar to honestly maybe Darius Leonard in 2018.

Flipping it to the offense, Mo Alie-Cox finally had his breakout game with 111 yards. Will Big Mo be TE1 moving forward? Jonathan Taylor and Philip Rivers also had solid outings, possibly showing a blueprint for what's to come.

On the injury front, how will Indy replace Parris Campbell and Malik Hooker? Campbell is so unique it might be impossible, but Blackmon looks more than ready to replicate or even exceed Hooker's production.

Finally, George provides his keys and prediction for Sunday's tilt against the New York Jets. Will this be another blowout win?
