Show notes

On today's episode, Evan is joined by The Draft Network's Jordan Reid to do a quick preview of the 2021 NFL Draft class before free agency officially kicks off next week. With draft talk going on the back burner for a few weeks during the waves of free agency, there's nobody better to have on than Jordan.

Starting off the show, Evan and Jordan go over possible Anthony Castonzo replacements in the first-round range. Sam Cosmi, Tevin Jenkins, and Liam Eichenberg go under the microscope. Also, could Christian Darrisaw somehow slip to Indy?

The EDGE class isn't as robust, but there's plenty of intrigue. We go over all of the following names who could be selected by Indy: Kwity Paye, Jalen Phillips, Gregory Rousseau, Jayson Oweh, and Azeez Ojulari.

How about adding weapons for Colts QB Carson Wentz? Rashod Bateman + Kadarius Toney could be potential T.Y. Hilton replacements, while Pat Freiermuth + Brevin Jordan have the potential to be awesome fits in Frank Reich's scheme.

Favorite Free Agency Fits for the Indianapolis Colts Mar 11, 2021

Show notes

On today's episode, Evan and Stampede Blue's Stephen Reed go over their favorite fits for the Indianapolis Colts in free agency. Who makes the cut? Not surprisingly, a couple of frequent names make an appearance, but also notice the trend. Pass rush and adding weapons for new quarterback Carson Wentz.

Before we dive into all of this, though, we quickly go over more veteran cuts around the NFL. Who makes sense for Indy? After signing Xavier Rhodes and Justin Houston as former cuts, keep an eye on Indy doing this again for a third straight year.

Evan believes stealing one or maybe two offensive weapons from division rival Tennessee makes so much sense. Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis are names to watch out for once the legal tampering period officially opens. Curtis Samuel is another underrated option if Indy decides to let T.Y. Hilton walk in free agency.

Pass rush is crucial for Indy to take the next step in 2021. Who makes sense for them to pursue? Watch out Romeo Okwara and Carl Lawson, two of our favorite fits in the whole 2021 free agency class.

All of this, plus so much more, in a jam-packed free agency preview episode!

Appealing Free Agent Options Loom for Colts Following Franchise Tag Deadline with George Bremer Mar 09, 2021

Show notes

On today's episode, George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin joins Evan to go over the franchise tag deadline in the NFL. With the Colts not using the tag, which hasn't been placed since Pat McAfee in the Ryan Grigson era, what else happened around the league? Surprisingly, it broke just right for Indy in terms of the pass rusher market. Names such as Shaq Barrett, Bud Dupree, Carl Lawson, and Romeo Okwara will all hit free agency next week.

Kicking things off, though, Evan and George dissect how Chris Godwin and Allen Robinson being franchise tagged could impact T.Y. Hilton's future in Indy. Now, with Hilton being a top-five WR on the market, have his chances of returning dwindled?

Then, we move over to the cornerback market. Shaquill Griffin headlines the corners not being tagged, so will this impact Xavier Rhodes? Evan and George go over a scenario where the draft could be where Rhodes' replacement could be found.

The market for pass rushers is historically robust. What does this mean for Indy? Names like Barrett, Dupree, Lawson, or Okwara have a chance to become Colts very soon. How aggressive will GM Chris Ballard be at this position?

Closing out the show, George provides his predictions for free agency. What will Indy pull off?

Buy or Sell Colts Free Agents Returning with Kevin Bowen Mar 08, 2021

Show notes

On today's episode, Evan is joined by Kevin Bowen from 1070 The Fan to go over four key Indianapolis Colts free agents. Does Kevin buy or sell their futures in Indy?

First up, what does the future hold for T.Y. Hilton with the Indianapolis Colts? Even though Hilton has lost a step or two, is it in Indy's best interest to re-sign him? Also, what does a possible contract look like?

Xavier Rhodes had a career resurgence in 2020, but will that continue elsewhere? Rhodes proved he can still be a top-caliber cornerback in the NFL. However, will his production take him out of Indy's preferred price range?

Denico Autry has been a versatile piece along the Colts' defensive line. Kevin even called him the best free agent signing of the Chris Ballard era thus far. Is now the time to let Autry walk and have Tyquan Lewis take his place, though?

Justin Houston was a consistent threat off the edge for Indy, but his performance tapered off in the final half of 2020. Does this mean Houston is on the way out? Look for the Colts to address pass rusher in free agency, but what about the developments of Kemoko Turay and Ben Banogu?

Closing out the show, Evan and Kevin go over how important the 2021 offseason truly is for the Colts.
